All employees are representatives of the Assemblies of God fellowship, and their employment is on this basis. If two applicants have equal qualifications, the applicant who attends an Assemblies of God church, and who accepts our doctrinal position, is given first consideration. The following explains the standards as they appear in the employee handbook:
Employees should conduct their personal affairs so as never to cast a bad reflection upon the Assemblies of God. The Assemblies of God upholds Biblical standards concerning lifestyle. Use of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, illegal drugs, advocacy of abortion or gay rights, and careless living, failure to pay debts, attending questionable places of amusement, participation in lotteries, pots, raffles, or any form of gambling, and any other departure from accepted Assemblies of God standards will be grounds for disciplinary actions. All headquarters employees are expected to maintain active church membership and to be faithful in attendance at church services.
The Human Resources Office reviews each application for completeness and availability, such as full time or part time. An applicant may be disqualified for employment if they are not a born again Christian, do not attend church regularly, use tobacco, alcohol or drugs. Divorced and remarried applicants are considered, but cannot be hired without meeting special requirements as outlined in our constitution and bylaws.
Some positions require skill testing to further evaluate applicants' qualifications. The Human Resources Office determines which applications merit testing. Not all jobs require a testing. Applicants selected for testing are contacted to schedule testing time. Test results are available to management and applicants approximately one week after testing. Tests are scored from very low to very high. Each position requires a minimum score in order to be further considered for the position. If your qualifications fit our needs, you will be contacted. Applications and test scores are kept on file for two years.
