Every address on the Internet is comprised of four numbers separated by periods. However, because people typically recall words more easily than numbers, the domain name system is used to map easy-to-remember, word-based addresses to the number-based address system of the Internet.

If you have not purchased a domain name for your site...

Select "Purchase a New Domain". Enter the domain name (without the "www") that you wish to reserve in the Domain Name Search input box, select one of the available top level domain options and select the "Search" button. If the domain name is available, you should see the domain name listed as available in the domain search box. If the domain name has been reserved, you may select one of the suggested alternate domain names or continue entering your choices in the "Domain Name" input box until you find an available domain name.

If you own a domain name you wish to use for your site...

Select "Use My Existing Domain". Enter the domain name in the "Existing Domain Name" input box.

If you own a domain but do not manage your own domain name records...

Log in to your domain account on your registrar's web site and follow their instructions for changing your domain's name servers. Set the primary name server to ns.rackspace.com. Set the secondary name server to ns2.rackspace.com.

If you own domain and manage your own domain name records...

Update the A record(s) for your domain to point to our server. If we will be providing your mail service, you will also need to update your domain's MX records to point to mx1.emailsrvr.com with a preference of 10 and mx2.emailsrvr.com with a preference of 20.

However, to keep costs low for all of our customers, we only purchase and manage available top level domains listed in the select box above using a vendor of our choice. Domains we purchase are included for the first year. Annual domain name renewal fees will be included on your bill at the time of renewal.
