Weather Summary

Weather Underground Forecast for Monday, October 13, 2008.

The strong ridge of high pressure holding over the central Europe will slowly move east and weaken on Monday. This will allow a series of systems to push eastward through northern British Isles and the northern Europe. Periods of light to moderate rain are expected across northern England and northern Ireland all day. A ridge of high pressure will build briefly Monday night before the next moist system arrives Tuesday morning, bringing much more rainfall across the British Isles. In addition, light precipitation will develop in western Scandinavia first, spreading eastward across northern Europe by midday. Rain can be heavy at times in southern Norway.

Another area of active weather can be found in the Iberian Peninsula. A chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected and some precipitation may travel to parts of southern France. Thunderstorms can be strong, capable of producing very heavy down pours.

The rest of the continent can expect mild and dry weather under a ridge of high pressure.
