Sidewalk Sunday School (via Mowser)

Nothing could be closer to the heart of God than ministry to the non-churched child! Within a half-mile of the doors of Victory Church live many children that are hurting, abused or neglected, and others that don’t even know who Jesus is. God is calling Victory Church to bring them love, bring them hope, and bring them Jesus. “Sidewalk Sunday School,” or as most kids know it, “Kids Club” is our ministry to over 500 children weekly in Lakeland neighborhoods; many being under-privileged. The Bible says, “Go and make disciples,” and that is exactly what we do! Our weekly trips into familiar neighborhoods are to reach and teach children, teens, and parents about Christ.

The SWSS truck goes into the same three neighborhoods each Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday to present the gospel message. Children love the “KIDS CLUB” and its high-energy church service geared especially for them. Held outdoors and staged from the truck, the team delivers loads of excitement and a sincere message of love using puppets, skits, games, songs, and a Bible lesson. For them, it is like the circus coming to town, with an added bonus of sincere love and people speaking into their lives. The children hear that they are loved and that they have a Hope for their future. But for most of them, it is the only Jesus they will hear or see all week long.

On Saturday mornings, The Freedom Center opens and hosts a children’s service from 10 to 11:30. The gym is filled with over one hundred kids that either walked or were picked up by a bus. For the next hour and a half, they experience games, songs, and a message that contains the love of God and a challenge to change their lives forever. Our prayer is that they will choose Christ today and that it will change their tomorrows.
