Nintendo Locks Down the DSi

Just when the rest of the gaming world seemed bent on going region free, Nintendo has done the unthinkable and region locked their latest incarnation of the DS, the DSi. As pointed out by Gizmodo, this kills the import market, but you have to wonder if it isn’t going to hurt them in the end and give modchip makers something to really smile about. My guess is that it won’t be long before a hardware workaround finds its way to market. [CVG via Gizmodo]

Lethal Looking Ice Cubes From Bullet Ice Cube Tray

It is perhaps unsurprising that an ice cube tray entitled, “The Bullet Ice Cube Tray” makes ice cubes shaped like bullets. What is surprising is how damned realistic these things look. I am assuming that the molded the real deal for authenticity and the icing on the cake is that the tray is shaped like an AK-47 magazine. Just a note, as these things are rather pointy, you might want to be careful to ensure that you don’t swallow one whole and do some actual damage to yourself.

Rockstar Jordan Midnight Club Sneakers, Surprisingly Cool-looking for Gaming-related Footwear

It is not often that I see any gaming-related clothing or footwear that I would ever consider wearing or even owning, but I must admit that these are a little different. I think it has to do with the black and red color scheme along with subtle carbon-fiber pattern around the laces. Would I buy them? Probably not, nevertheless they are a cool-looking pair of shoes.

Price: $380 - but it appears that they have to be won from here, here or here. [Crunch Gear]

Reset Cups, Green Teaware for Windows Geeks

The old control-alt-delete trick is something that has gotten many Windows users, including myself, out of a pickle many a time, so it only makes sense that it would be celebrated in cups that look like they are for green tea. The web shop of the design company behind them isn’t up yet, but if you fire off an email to them, you might be able to find a price and secure a purchase. [MOD Design via Like Cool, Si Lo Se]
