Things that relate more to me than to you.

Why I would quit theming today.

Quit ButtonI love to create Firefox themes, make addons and lots of freebees that others often enjoy.  I do this on my free time and love to see people enjoy them.  But some days, I’m ready to throw in the towel.

I’ve recently got a few comments from a visitor saying “hurry up and release the f**king theme” and “do your f**king job.”

Now I know that there is bound to be one jerk out of hundreds of users, but it’s comments like these that make me wonder why I continue to spend my time on themes.  It’s not my job and, the more negative comments I get, the slower my progress will be.  These things take hours to build and there is a lot to take into consideration.

You don’t always die from tobacco.

The Truth ads are by far some of the most creative, honest and shocking ads on TV.  Props to them!!

I’m Looking For Disney World Tips

Epcot CenterIn just a few days, the wife and I will be heading out of Minnesota and into hot and sunny Orlando, Florida!

We plan on visiting all Disney parks and hitting up Universal Studios too. Since that’s a lot to do, we are wondering if anyone has any tips to share?

I already have the Disney iPhone maps on my iPod Touch thanks to WDW Pinpoint. Hopefully the land of dreams has free WiFi!

I have been to Disney World a few times growing up, but this is the first time for the wife. She’s in for a real treat!

How I Got My Inbox Into Shape

I keep hearing people say that they got their inbox down to zero or their email is so organized and I never knew how they did it.  Then, last weekend, I sat down and started organizing a few messages.  Before I knew it, I was cleaning out my inbox and got it down to only a few messages.

So how’d I do it?  Here are my keys to success.

Create folders for topics that best match your email style.  Like Friends, Family, Shopping, Wife.  Think of who you get the most email from or what topics you get a lot of email on.  Then create folders to file all those emails into.

8 Things That Baffle Me About My iPod Touch

I’ve been an iPod Touch owner since Christmas and I’ve been very happy.  However, there are still a few things that I just don’t quite get.  Maybe someone can help explain.

Coverflow - It’s a really sweet feature, but the album art seems to only match the song that was playing when Coverflow as activated.  It doesn’t seem to update when the song changes.  Why not? Google Search - Google has a great iPhone friendly versions of Google Search, yet Safari’s built in search doesn’t use it on my iPod.  It sends you to the regular Google Search results instead, which are hard to read.

Welcome Wordpress 2.5 And The Awesome Admin

I took the jump and have upgraded to Wordpress 2.5. On the outside, there aren’t any visible differences. Well, if you see any bugs, let me know. The admin side however is completely re-vamped and so nice!

There are so may things to talk about that I just don’t have time right now to go through them all. From the revamped admin menu to the simplified post screen it’s just so much cleaner. The ability to add media such as video and audio is also a great addition. I just love this!

Cruising Past 100,000 Miles

100000 MilesIt’s been 8 years and a ton of memories since I bought my Ford Focus.  Over the Easter weekend my Focus hit 100,000 miles!

I was worried that it may expire when it hit the 100k mark.  You know, planed obsolesce.  But it didn’t, it just kept cruising down the highway.  Granted, it did leave us stuck on the side of the road over the weekend, but that was a relatively cheap fix.

At this point, I don’t see any reason to get rid of my Focus.  It has one feature that no other car can offer.  No monthly payment.  :D

Daughtry and Bon Jovi Rocked the Xcel

Last night (March 19th) we enjoyed Daughtry and Bon Jovi in concert at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN.

Granted our seats weren’t that close, and digital zoom isn’t the best, but I was pretty happy with my pictures.  View them all.

And the concert ROCKED!  Daughtry is awesome and Bon Jovi sings non stop.  His vocal are great yet his dance moves are corny as can be.  Still, one Wild night. :)

Weekend Update: Firefox 3, TV, Software and More

I thought I’d write a random post with some of what’s on my mind this weekend.

I’m now running Firefox 3 betas thanks to MultiFireFox. MidnightFox was updated the other day with incorrect buttons.  Oops.  That has been re-uploaded and should be made public soon. yExplore and GA? have been updated for Firefox 3. Actually, for the beats not the official release.  That’ll happen when the final release comes out. Now that I am running Firefox 3, I can start theming it. Just started to watch Entourage.  It seems like a pretty cool show.

Help Thomas McMahon (me) beat a dead guy.

It shouldn’t bother me, and it really doesn’t, but I’ve been #3 in Google for Thomas McMahon for years now. I’m being beat out by a dead guy; twice.

Thomas McMahon

Granted, I think that even being dead, he’s got better link love. He’s a Harvard grad that has written eighty scientific papers, two scientific books, had six inventions patented, and published three novels. Yea, well I’ve created like eight Firefox themes. ;)

If you’d like to help me beat out Thomas McMahon (Harvard guy) in Google searches, link back to this post (or www.twistermc.com) with ‘Thomas McMahon’ as your link text. If you want to vote for the other guy, well that’s just rude.
