The Congressman from the 5th District likened McSame/Failin to George Wallace.
I am deeply disturbed by the negative tone of the McCain-Palin campaign. What I am seeing reminds me too much of another destructive period in American history. Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse.
During another period, in the not too distant past, there was a governor of the state of Alabama named George Wallace who also became a presidential candidate. George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights. Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama.
McSame called Lewis' comment "shocking and beyond the pale". Remember it wasn't too long ago that McCain said Lewis was one of the people he would consult if he were to win the election.
Now I am a 'Hopemonger' and all and would love to see this but I gotta think that is a bit high, even with the large number of young voters in Georgia. I've got a whole slew of other numbers but my paranoia keeps me from discussing them in an open forum.
Ok, I'm sure Huttman will drop by to drop a few pearls....
I won round 1 in Fox Radio's Battle of the Blog Talkers. Today is the finals for the left.
You can listen live on Fox News Radio at 2:00 PM today or on Sirius and XM radio. We need your help in getting David to the next level which will feature debates between Heading Left and Heading Right hosts. At 3:00 PM today, please go online to Fox News Radio and vote to support me.
or you can Vote Directly Here: http://answers.polldaddy.com/poll/985975/
Please help your Kudzu Vine hosts get some recognition! Thank you again for your support!
DCCC spent no money in either the 8th or 12th this cycle.
DC has dropped no coin in Georgia this year. One has to assume this means they are confident the two will win.

Things are getting interesting.

Fox Radio's Battle of the Blog Talkers continues today with myself, David McLaughlin (from Georgia's own Kudzu Vine Radio) and Tom D'Antoni (from Portland's D'Antoni & Levine). This week is round one - each day will feature a debate between two blog talkers from Heading Left.
You can listen live on Fox News Radio at 2:00 PM today or on Sirius and XM radio. We need your help in getting David to the next level which will feature debates between Heading Left and Heading Right hosts. At 3:00 PM today, please go online to Fox News Radio and vote to support me. Please help your Kudzu Vine hosts get some recognition! Thank you!
Take Back Georgia, Inc. released our latest attack ad against Saxby Shameless and we need your help to spread the word and put it on the air! This will be a nice short call to action post!
Listen to the new ad here: www.saxbyshameless.com/files/special_interests.mp3
Then, contribute here: http://www.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/20015
If you think this one is good, just wait til our next one when we take Saxby to task for his shameless attacks on Senator Max Cleland. Our "Pain at the Pump" ad is running on the radio across GA until Friday, we need funds to put this new ad up starting on Monday to not lose momentum!!!

Yesterday Markos Moulitsas posted a commentary on DKos regarding the GA-Sen race, noting that progressive Democratic challenger Jim Martin is essentially tied in the polls with His Evilness Saxby Chambliss. He also noted that polling may likely be significantly underestimating African American turnout to be in the range of 24-27%. From a purely anecdotal perpective from the ground, I can say that Kos is absolutely correct that those numbers may be significantly underestimating African American turnout. In fact, IMHO the African American turnout in GA will be a total blowout!
more on the flip:
Another number I heard yesterday scared the hell out of me...over 100,000 and as many as 300,000 Reg.forms still have to be processed. I hope that is not the case
Another big score for the big O.
Seriously, why would anyone (you know who you are) be tepid in their support for Obama?
Choice quoutes below, and a new poll on the side.
Personally I think this is brilliant and like to see a Democrat fighting back for a change. I think it has a lot to do with Jim Martin's success of late and if McCain is going to bring up the William Ayers bullshit I say go for it.
Join us tomorrow at 7:00 pm as we have US Congressional candidate Stephen Camp, and State House from one of the top targets state wide Dr. Bob Puckett as featured guests.
Also, the head of Take Back Georgia, Mike Cantone will join us to premiere there latest ad to "take back" one of Georgia's seats in the US Senate.
Finally, we will give details of a national contest that one of our host will be participating in next week and moch more!

Securing the votes in Congress to pass real immigration solutions into law isn't going to be easy. The next President - no matter who wins - will need to lead his own party first to get it done.
Man do I love procrastinating...
Highlights of the interview I did with Governor Barnes are below. You will have to go here to read it in full. It shold be up in the early afternoon (hey, I told him that's who I was conducting the interview for!)
I can't believe how big of a journalistic failure I was after the Jim Martin quesiton. For some reason, I just didn't even think of asking a follow up. (BTW: if my boss is reading this, I am always an excellent journo).
That said, some of the answers he gives might blow your mind, so be sure to check it out.
OK, so maybe DSCC was right.
Saxby Chambliss, a Republican, leads Martin, a Democrat, by two points, 46 percent to 44 percent.
Thirteen days ago, Chambliss led the challenger by 17 points, 53 percent to 36 percent. Chambliss lost seven points in the latest polling and Martin picked up eight points.
Because the margin of error for both polls is 3.8 percent, the poll shows that Georgia's U.S. Senate race is effectively tied.
Does Obama have a shot? Not so much. That isn't to say there is no good news for BHO.
According to the SurveyUSA poll released Tuesday, John McCain leads Obama by eight points, 52 percent to 44 percent.
McCain held a 16-point lead in the Peach State 13 days ago, according to the last SurveyUSA poll.BTW: Gov. Barnes said Obama is an impressive candidate with "the most impressive" operation he's seen in a Presidential race. Barnes added that he thinks Obama can carry Georgia.
Yeah, sorry for not yet transcribing that interview. I should really get on that.
CNN published a piece this morning online by Georgia's own Congressman Jim Marshall (D-Macon). He has a very interesting analysis of the situation.
Reminder! Don't Forget to Attend the "Martinis for Jim Martin" Fundraiser Tuesday Evening!
