Miller Park
A Fan's Guide to the Game
With some heavy slings on the mound and an even bigger artillery at the plate, the Brewers are staging an all-out battle for the NL Central title. Any Brewers fan headed out for a game at Miller Park should take a look at our "Fan's Guide to the Game" below.
Opened in 2001 at a cost of $400 million, Miller Park is another example of the fine parks that have been sprouting up in the league since the mid-'90s. Located roughly two miles from downtown Milwaukee, the fan-shaped retractable dome complements local architecture and welcomes Brewers fans from around the world.
Once inside, fans are welcomed with unique views that match the feel of parks from baseball's Golden Age with all the comforts of a turn-of-the-century facility. From the massive 37-by-48-foot Smartivision and 32-by-76-foot monochrome scoreboard structure in center field to Bernie's Dugout in left field, Miller Park has its own personality.
Clean sightlines can be found from just about every seat in the stadium; with the exception of the Uecker seats behind home plate. I guess this guy still can't catch a break! However, he is immortalized during home runs when a series of signs light up with his signature quote, "Get up, get up, get outta here! Gone!"
There's plenty to do for fans of all ages at Miller Park, so plan on getting to the park early to make the most of your visit. On your way in, you might want to grab a meal at Klement's Sausage House, located in the east parking lot. For dining inside the park, try Gorman's Corner. Brewers legend Gorman Thomas might even be on hand to bring a smile and a dish for any appetite.
When your bellies are full, take a quick tour of the park before you find your seats. For Brewers, Milwaukee baseball and baseball history in general, stop by the Hot Corner on the Field Level in left field. You'll also find Autograph Alley inside the Fan Zone Store, where you can immortalize yourself in Miller Park history by signing a baseball to leave on display. The Big League Blast is also located within the Hot Zone. Fans of all ages can test their baseball knowledge and skills and even participate in a race with the world-famous Klement's Sausages. Make sure you stop by the Brewers Walk of Fame to snap a shot by the granite home plates that tribute the likes of Henry Aaron, Rollie Fingers, Robin Yount and Paul Molitor.
Once you're settled into your seats, get ready for a great day at a wonderful park. There's plenty to attract the eye between pitches. Weather permitting, the roof will be open with fresh air and sunshine pouring in to accompany a perfect day "at the 'ol ball game."
The Brewers are playing better than ever and you don't want to miss them when they are in action, so grab some friends, family or business associates, take a day off from the office and root the Brew Crew on to victory this year!
