The leadership of Victory Christian Center strongly encourages church member participation in local, regional and foreign missions trips and outreaches. There is no substitute for being there when it comes to experiencing missions, seeing, feeling, hearing the need; empathizing with pastors and missionaries; and realizing firsthand the thrill of being Christ’s hand extended.

As a participant in a Victory Christian Center sponsored missions trip, it is important to remember that each person not only represents the Lord but also Victory Christian Center. Not only are personal reputations involved, but also the standing of our local church, our church movement and the missionaries with whom we are working. Consequently, it is imperative that all participants adhere to a code of conduct that exalts and exemplifies Christ at all times.

While it is not the intent of the Missions Department to be rules-oriented, the following behaviors are expected of participants during Victory Christian Center missions trips:

Victory Christian Center
Missions Trip
Guidelines for Conduct

1. Complete all pre-work/preparations required for the trip (i.e. trip, passport applications, drama/music practices, etc.)

2. Be prompt for all group activities.

3. Actively and willingly participate in all group worship services and times of devotion.

4. Communicate with the group leader if the need arises for exceptions.

5. Demonstrate support for group leader decisions.

6. Respect local customs and do not speak disparagingly of local people or customs.

7. Abstain from the use of alcohol and illegal drugs.

8. Abstain from tobacco products.

9. Avoid profane language (verbal and non-verbal.)

10. Avoid (even the appearance of) inappropriate relationships with members of the opposite sex… other team members or local personnel.

11.Wear modest dress appropriate for the activity, weather and local custom.

It is the responsibility of the Missions Director and/or a member of the Leadership Team to oversee the conduct of the Victory Christian Center team. The Missions Director is empowered to take action as necessary and appropriate in dealing with any issues that arise, including dismissal of offending parties.

Cooperation with these guidelines will greatly enhance our team’s ability to minister a more clear presentation of Christianity and will cause Victory Christian Center teams to be welcome to return with future ministry.

Victory Christian Center
Fund Raising Guidelines

We endeavor to provide a wide variety of missions opportunities ranging geographically from Youngstown to the far corners of the world. From general labor on a construction team to a specialized physician with a medical team; from youth to senior citizen; single persons or the whole family; we believe there is a need and a place for everyone in Victory Christian Center Missions.

Of course, there is also the issue of cost when it comes to missions. Travel, lodging, medicines and materials are not free. Your participation in Victory Christian Center Missions will require an investment-a Kingdom investment.

As a result of our missions involvement, a number of financial guidelines have developed and the Missions Department feels it is appropriate to document and share these with the Victory Christian Center church body:

1. One’s first commitment to giving is the tithe. Investments in missions should be
considered an offering, “over and above.”

2. Over 87 missionaries are counting on Victory Christian Center’s regular monthly
pledged support. We strongly encourage faithful mission-giving. Our missionaries rely upon these funds in order to carry on their ministries and meet family living needs. Pledged funds are not to be reallocated for missions trip expenses.

3. Since our young people are income-limited, we encourage their personal fundraising through our youth group Revolution. See Youth Pastors for more information. Members are encouraged to assist our young people as they feel directed by the Lord.

4. Care should be taken when making any personal appeals to individuals or groups outside Victory Christian Center for financial assistance toward missions trips. If tax credit is desired, donations must be made to Victory Christian Center with designation as to the purpose/recipient of the gift.

5. Only gifts designated for approved Victory Christian Center Missions activities will be receipted.

Periodically these guidelines will be updated and shared with Victory Christian Center Missions participants. Questions and feedback are welcomed and should be directed to the Missions Department or the Missions Director, Pastor Marcia Sagenich.
