The website reads that “Trailer 2” received a rating of “PG” and has a run time of “1m 31s.” UPDATE: While this may indeed be the rating for a future trailer, WB says that unfortunately there will not be a new trailer airing just yet. Scholastic Celebrates Anniversary with "Cover to Cover" Readathon Webcast
NewsTo celebrate the 10-year-anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Scholastic is holding a live read-a-thon at their New York City store on Sept. 23. Fans of all ages are invited to sit in the throne that J.K. Rowling used at her Carnegie Hall readings and read from the first Harry Potter book. First, the Mythopoeic Society, which is a non-profit agency promoting the study and enjoyment of mythic literature, has chosen Ms. Rowling the winner of its Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children’s Literature. This award “honors books for younger readers (from “Young Adults†to picture books for beginning readers), in the tradition of The Hobbit or The Chronicles of Narnia.” J. K. EA Remains Undecided on HBP Video Game Release Date Change
HBP FilmElectronic Arts, the makers of the Harry Potter video games, have confirmed directly to TLC that the company is still in the process of re-evaluating a possible new release date for the “Half-Blood Prince” game, despite the move by WB to postpone the movie until July 17 of next year. Scientists Appear Closer to Real Invisibility Cloak
BooksUSA Today has an article online discussing the scientific advances in technology that would make it possible for an invisibility cloak object to exist. Once only something of fiction from the Harry Potter novels, the article reports that scientists have created two prototyped materials that bend light, the first of many steps in advancing the technology. Rowling wrote an 800-word note card containing a story featuring a young James and Sirius Black for Waterstone’s “What’s Your Story?” charity auction. This Harry Potter prequel was included with the 12 other stories written on postcards for the Waterstone’s auction and published yesterday. The Telegraph is reporting that 10,000 copies were sold on the first day, with many shops running out of copies before lunchtime. New HBP Behind the Scenes Photo of Dumbledore
HBP FilmThe latest issue of German magazine Cinema has an article and behind the scenes look at the “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” film which a short report, photos from the film, and new set photo of Dumbledore during a scene shot in the Great Hall. New UK Trailer Due for "Half-Blood Prince? Not Just Yet Says WB
HBP FilmThe British Board of Film Classification has been updated today with news that a new trailer for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince may be released shortly. The website reads that “Trailer 2” received a rating of “PG” and has a run time of “1m 31s.” UPDATE: While this may indeed be the rating for a future trailer, WB says that unfortunately there will not be a new trailer airing just yet. EA Continues to Promote "Half-Blood Prince," Made Wii Lead Platform for the Game
HBP FilmWith the news that the film for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” had been rescheduled to July 17, 2009, there has been continued speculation regarding the fate of the video game. Scholastic Celebrates Anniversary with "Cover to Cover" Readathon Webcast
NewsTo celebrate the 10-year-anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Scholastic is holding a live read-a-thon at their New York City store on Sept. 23. Fans of all ages are invited to sit in the throne that J.K. Rowling used at her Carnegie Hall readings and read from the first Harry Potter book. J.K. RowlingThere are two pieces of news online tonight regarding Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling and honors she recently received. First, the Mythopoeic Society, which is a non-profit agency promoting the study and enjoyment of mythic literature, has chosen Ms. Rowling the winner of its Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children’s Literature. This award “honors books for younger readers (from “Young Adults†to picture books for beginning readers), in the tradition of The Hobbit or The Chronicles of Narnia.” J. K. Rowling was chosen by society members for this award which nominates and awards authors for their work annually.
