OS2008 on N800 Part 4: Internet Radio

Part 4 in the Tablet-Guru series showing off OS2008 on the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet focuses on the feature that I use the most - Internet Radio. Plenty of improvement over OS2007, including an all-new Internet Radio Directory, so that you can easily browse for the type of music you want, without having to pull up Shoutcast! Very convenient and easy to use.

Do you use Internet Radio on your Internet Tablet?

Dear Tablet Guru -

Didn’t see a way to contact you via e-mail to send these questions so I figured I’d post here. Your site has been a big help in my decision to purchase an N800 or N810. I’ve got a few questions that I can’t find answered anywhere on the net.

1. The specs for the N810 show that they have added USB OTG. Have you tested it? I’d love to know how it works, if it supports a mass storage profile that would seal the deal for me on getting the 810 versus the 800.
2. What is the material of the screen and what method is used for the touchscreen. IE is it a glass screen like the touch or one of the old school screens like on PDA’s with kind of a soft plasticy feel. Also, how scratch resistant is it?

Thanks a bunch!

Hey, sorry. Btw, I’ve updated the About page so that it lists my email, which is currently guru@symbian-guru.com (feel free to email me anytime).

1. I have spent a grant total of 10 minutes with the N810, so I can’t say. However, I will find out. You should also check out Tabletblog.com. Dan aka Thoughtfix has actually had an N810 for a while, and should be able to answer that for you.

2. Again, don’t know. I would imagine it’s somewhat soft, though, as the N800 is.

Thanks, I couldn’t get an answer anywhere, so I ended up ordering the N800. I really didn’t need the GPS and I’ve already got a Stowaway Bluetooth keeyboard that will work with it, so I really couldn’t justify the $260 price difference, plus I will have the N800 tomorrow while would not probably be seeing the N810 until the beginning of January.
