It was a combined NYE celebration, housewarming, and oh yeah the 50th birthday party. A great time, and my gratitude to the family, friends and neighbors who made it so is sincere and heartfelt.

Pont de la Machine, Geneva, Switzerland

This is where Lac Leman, or Lake Geneva, feeds into the Rhone River... just outside the door the the Hotel Ambassador, where I usually stay.

"The Machine" is the lock mechanism used to control the flow... which you can see just left of the right edge of the image.

This happens to be 21 shots (7 each times 3) to create the pano. Alight adjustments in Photomatix, sky cleanup in Photoshop, and a bit of texture from LucisArt Exposure.

Mulligans Irish Pub, Geneva, Switzerland, July 2008

I just returned from another trip to Geneva -- which included a climb up into the Jura mountains to take a look back toward the French Alps and Mont Blanc. After that climb, I stopped in at this place -- just around the corner from my hotel, but a much needed refreshment. The weather was beautiful -- but humid -- and that 1664 tasted great!

Shady Rest by the Merrimack, Lawrence, MA, May 2008

Working with the 10.5mm f/2.8 is tricky. I took this months ago but only recently did it leap out of Bridge and ask for some processing. I guess is some ways the roof of this structure feels like the inside of a boat hull -- right here alongside the river.

Go! Speed Racer

Go! Speed Racer, originally uploaded by TimDD.

Saw this on a trip to NYC a couple of months ago.

Adjustments: I used a LucisArt exposure filter on the buildings, which as expected creates that chewy texture which so loves stone and brick. I masked the mural and boosted the saturation just a tad, and used the "multiply" mode to give it some POP.

Don't know if the movie was any good... but the outdoor was!

Another face picture from my trip a couple of weeks ago to New York City to see my niece Sarah in "The Mikado."

As I mentioned when I posted this on Flickr, the camera just loves this boy's face!

Thanks to Flickr, I've had another photo published -- this time a picture of the Celtics / Lakers showdown to support a story about the NBA Finals.

Yum Yum, Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado, Laguardia Arts, New York, NY

My niece, Sarah Keljikian, as Yum Yum, in Laguardia Arts' production of "The Mikado." She was absolutely brilliant, and obviously absolutely beautiful!

Lawrence RR Bridge

Lawrence RR Bridge, originally uploaded by TimDD.

Mother's Day walk took us into Lawrence, and to see the newly rehab'ed parks. We found a way under the two bridges which are just downstream of Lawrence Dam. Awesome sound, and these awesomely mid-century (earlier, perhaps) structures.

Tree Baby

Tree Baby, originally uploaded by TimDD.

I believe this baby doll was trapped in this riverside tree at the time of an extremely high tide this spring. It stopped me in my tracks.

Faces of Iceman 2005

Dsc_0376
This was my second Iceman, and I brought the D70 to see what might happen. Julie and I manned a feeding station, then I got caught up in the finish area, amazed by the facial expressions of the riders. I had a blast -- as clearly the riders did!
