My Online Life
My Professional Life
... is in flux since I moved to Brazil. I'm mainly a programmer who has developed database-backed websites and desktop applications. I've also been paid to write ballet music and teach MBAs about weblogs, wikis and Edge Competences.
I worked for two years as a substitute professor at the University of Brasília, teaching undergraduate courses on "Advanced Programming" (the down-and-dirty C course), "Object Oriented Programming" (in Java) and "Programming Languages" (comparisons between C, Java, Python, Haskell, Prolog, XML, Javascript and anything else that caught my attention.)
I'm now have a full time job in an enterprise software company. I started doing a range of project management type stuff but have shifted back into programming (which turns out to be more useful.) I'm writing Caché ObjectScript of all things, which was not an experience that altogether delighted me originally, but I've decided to "make lemonade" and become the world's most famous Caché blogger.
Sometimes I'm available to hire. Generally, I can write Python, PHP, Perl, Java, C, C++, Visual Basic, Caché ObjectScript, Smalltalk, SQL, Javascript etc. But I vastly prefer scripting languages. And if you're building high-level applications for customers with continuously changing requirements, I recommend that you should too. (WARNING : I'm an opinionated employee, who's likely to think a lot about how you do things. ;-) )

Alt.Money
I'm fascinated by money : what it is, and how it works. I'm a co-founder of the OPTIMAES project to investigate alternative currencies and economic systems. I can also be found posting regularly on the Alt.Money tribe and now getting into Open Money on Ning.
Other Interests
These are some other things I think about too much and bore my friends by trying to talk about :
All of which get discussed on my wiki
