[image] [image] CB Terrance Newman, who was held out of Week 5 as a precaution with a groin injury, is now suffering from an abdominal strain as well.
He had MRIs on both injuries Monday. His timetable for return is unclear, but the additional injury does not help his prospects of playing Sunday against Arizona.

[image] [image] Coach Marvin Lewis said QB Carson Palmer's elbow held up all right during his two-touchdown performance against the Cowboys.
"His elbow is fine," Lewis said. "We'll see where he is Wednesday, but he came through the game fine." Barring a setback it appears Palmer's elbow should be a non-issue going forward.

[image] [image] OT Jordan Gross (concussion) could miss next week’s game against Tampa Bay after sitting out against Kansas City.
The Panthers throttled Kansas City with Gross’ replacement, Frank Omiyale, who did not allow a sack. While the Panthers would like to have Gross back, it appears the offense can still be productive in his absence.

[image] [image] DT Tommie Harris is expected to return in Week 6 against the Falcons.
Harris missed two games, the first nursing a knee injury and the second due to a team suspension. The Bears' defense didn't miss a beat without him last week in Detroit, but they're unquestionably a better unit with him on the field.

[image] [image] Bills WR Lee Evans said Cardinals S Adrian Wilson went overboard on the hit that gave QB Trent Edwards a concussion.
"It wasn't the hit, it was him being driven into the ground like that that did it," Evans said. "It'll be interesting to see if the league comes down with a fine." Edwards is considered day-to-day and has been alert and responsive in conversations with teammates. He has the bye week to help recover. J.P. Losman will play again in his place if he can't go.

[image] [image]
[image] [image] Craig "Buster" Davis is likely to start this week against the Patriots.
While New England's pass defense isn't great, we wouldn't pick up Davis as a one-week option. Philip Rivers has plenty of options in the pass game and there isn't much long-term upside here, despite Davis being a first-round pick last year.
