Weekend Update

Posted on Sunday 20 July 2008

Services at New Hope Christian Fellowship In St. Leonard Maryland were packed with the Glory of God in each service! The altars were filled again in each service with hungry people seeking the face of God. Tonight the Glory of God fell and God brought the people breakthroughs they needed!

I was going to minister on fresh oil but before I could even take the pulpit, the oil bucket tipped over! It is such a blessing to be around people who are hungry for God! And that hunger and thirst for His righteousness will bring us to an infilling every time!

New Hope Christian Fellowship

Posted on Thursday 17 July 2008

We begin revival meetings Friday night in St. Leonard, Maryland at New Hope Christian Fellowship with Pastor Larry Barnes. I spoke with him this week and he and the congregation feel like something is brewing in the Spirit for them this weekend! I really appreciate Pastor Barnes! He graciously allowed us to postpone our originally scheduled meetings we had for April due to the revival that broke out in Beauregard, Alabama just a few weeks ago. Not many pastors would have released us with the grace and excitement he did! May God pour out His Spirit on this town and his church!

Where there is an expectation and anticipation for GOD to have His way, He never lets us down! He may not do things the way we think He should…He definately doesn’t always do the same thing twice in a row…but He always come through for His people!

I sincerely believe God is setting us up for the next Great Awakening! At least, that’s what I’m praying for! And I’m asking the He begins it in me!

Small Church Revival

Posted on Tuesday 15 July 2008

What a weekend! God moved again tremendously for us at Progress Assembly of God in Buckatunna Mississippi! It never ceases to amaze me where God’s people are hungry, He shows up!

I have not been able to blog much over the last month due to constantly being in areas with no internet connection. I hope that fast has past!

My friend Carl Thomas at Revival Blog asked me one time how I felt about preaching in so many small churches. I would like to preach in big churches, and God allows us to from time to time. But I believe small churches are just as significant in the eyes of God as the bigger churches are. The fallacy that big churches are meeting the needs of all their members is a fallacy…just like the thought that small churches are meeting all the needs in their communities…

The truth is we need BOTH large as well as small churches. And multitudes of people live outside major cities and CANNOT drive 50 miles or more to the nearest “happening church”…

And small churches need to have a move of God’s Spirit like the mega churches do.  But if no one is willing to go partner with them in a move of God….?

I believe God has a plan for big churches! But I also believe God has a plan and an outpouring of His Spirit for smaller churches who will continue to find their significance in what He has called then to do and be. Whatever and wherever that may be!

July Revival Update

Posted on Thursday 10 July 2008

Sorry to be so silent these last few days…we returned home from Indonesia last Thursday night at 10:30pm; went back to the airport and picked up our daughter Missy and our grandson Andrew on Friday; then left Saturday morning for Magee Mississippi and Cornerstone Family Worship Center. WHEW!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God for NO JET LAG!!!!!!

Services at Cornerstone with Pastor Jeff Revette were tremendous! SO tremendous, Pastor Jeff was healed Sunday night of severe pain in his shoulder that he has had for quite a while. Last night when he left church, he was still healed! Also, an elderly lady who had been in services in a wheel chair Sunday and Monday, came back Tuesday night without the wheel chair! God is releasing divine healing anywhere people will ask for it!

Friday night we begin meetings in Buckatunna Mississippi at Progress Assembly of God. For direction or more information you can visit http://revivalnow.org/schedule and click the map for directions. If you are anywhere close by, we would love to have you join us Friday through Sunday!

I didn’t have an internet connection this week, so hopefully I can get back on track next week!

The next thing God does is always greater than the last thing God did!

Where Are We At The Midpoint of 2008

Posted on Sunday 29 June 2008

Where are we at the midpoint of 2008?

2008 has been the greatest year of ministry in 30 years of ministry for me. It started small and slow but in March something dramatic shifted (in me at least) and has not let up till now. And I hope and pray it does not let up!

In order to see where we are at it’s important to look at where God wants to take us. To do that I want to briefly look back at Psalms 8. If it is true that the Psalms number that correlates to the year number in which we live contains a prophetic word, then we need to be sensitive to what that particular Psalm is saying. I know there are other scriptures and passages God is impressing on people, but because we only see in part, we can only prophecy the part we are seeing. Therefore I simply am speaking forth what I am seeing through my small lense.

First, Psalms 8 is a refocus of attention on Jesus! Much of what American Christianity, especially Pentecostal/Charismatic Christianity has produced in recent years has been tainted with narcissism and a very selfish, self seeking kind of entertainment that has literally left a bad taste in the mouth of the world. Even though much of the world declares us to be a Christina nation, church attendance is poor in many areas and we are battling the greatest attack of the Laodicean spirit I have seen since I began to serve Christ 32 years ago. But God IS moving in a way that is re-directing the attention to be on HIM on not a man or a denomination!

Psalms 8:1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent [is] thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

Secondly, The wave of the Spirit He showed me last November while I was in Wytheville Virginia is happen…not only in Lakeland, Florida, but all over the world!

I know many people have major problems with some of the things that are happening in Lakeland. But I don’t know Todd Bentley…never been in one of his meetings. And the only way you could really judge the Spirit and the anointing that is being released in a particular service or revival (I think) is to be a part of that particular service. I do have a problem with female angels, simply because there is no scriptural precedence in scripture for that. But if people are being delivered from sin, drugs, alcohol and are being set on fire with a genuine love for God, I say God can do whatever He wants…any way He wants. I know this will cause me to lose some readers and friends, but I cannot cast judgment against something or someone until I go there myself, or meet that person for myself. People who do not really know me and know my heart would judge me as being too hyper or even manipulative at times. But until you really know me, spend time with me, and understand where I’ve come from and the real cry of my heart, you really cannot judge my ministry. Only from a distance.  Everyone I have talked with (and I have talked with many) who have been to Lakeland, tells me it’s the real deal. All I know is everywhere Pam and I go, young people are being swept into the Kingdom of God and are now being used to touch and transform cities and very possibly nations!

Just last week Pam and I had the opportunity to minister to a group of High School students in Soe, West Timor Indonesia. We would have been arrested if we had said some of the things I said in a school in America! But those students were so hungry and receptive, and many came to an outdoor meeting we held that night and were set on fire by the Power of the Holy Spirit!

We also saw a group of young men, some of them who had grown up in Soe that had moved to Bali, got saved and set on fire for God, they led worship to over a thousand people in weather so cold, every American I know of would have left and went home! God used those young men and women to draw people into the Presence of God so the Word of God could be sowed in their heart, and many, many lives were changed for the Glory of God! God is pouring out His Spirit in a new way on young people all over the world! In fact, every extended meeting we have had this year was extended because of the hunger and thirst and response that is being demonstrated by the youth of that area. In Charlotte North Carolina, there has been a Holy Spirit breakout in Rick Joyner’s church that was birthed by young people, many of them about to be kicked out of school, being touched, changed and set on fire with the Presence of God!

Psa 8:2  Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

Thirdly, every week we are getting reports and testimonies to us that people are beginning to experience the unusual presence of angels in services as well as in their personal prayer time. I have had several experiences this year that I could relate to a visitation of angels, but I must stress: EVERY VISITATION OF GOD OR HIS ANGELS IS TO BRING GLORY TO HIM AND A GREATER FOCUS TO JESUS CHRIST AND HIS LORDSHIP!!!!!!!

Psa 8:3  When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
Psa 8:4  What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Psa 8:5  For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

Lastly, something I believe is to come this year is a great release of a message of dominion. With this message of dominion is also come a stripping of the political clout the American church has had for the last 30 years. I am grateful for the men of God He has used to call us to get involved in the political process. But the open door to the White House we have had for the last 30 years is closing to a certain degree. This is happening because God is tired of us putting our confidence trust in a political party and not in Him. When the church gets back on her knees and walks out her faith with Him, the nation, the economy will turn around in His timing! The downturn in the economy, the gas price explosion and even a potential for America to experience food shortages and even greater loss of jobs is in reality God’s mercy attempting to get our focus back on Him and off our exploits and abilities to make money. HE is the one who gives us the power to get wealth!

The message of dominion that God will bring forth is not going to say the church is taking over; again, we are being stripped of our political maneuvering! The dominion message that God is bringing forth will impart a grace and an anointing to break the yokes off our lives that have kept us addicted to secret sin, unforgiveness and a rather mundane carnal Christian existence!
I know this has been long, but I have much more bottled up in my spirit! God is not about to do something: HE IS ALREADY DOING IT!

Oh Father, Let the fire fall!!!!!!!!

Demonstration of the Holy Spirit

Posted on Sunday 22 June 2008

I was meeting with a group of pastors last week and talking about the passing of the mantle. This topic (like most others) has caused quite a bit of debate. But our American mindset won’t always allow us to grasp the significance of a subject with Middle Eastern roots.

A mantle according to Strongs is something wide; something ample; expand to be great.

The mantle signifies not only our call from God; the anointing to do what He has called us to do; it also signifies the authority to use that anointing!

T.L. Osborn said unless you can demonstrate the Gospel you are not fit to preach the Gospel! May God help us to pick up the mantle of the demonstration of the Gospel of Jesus!

1Co 2:1  And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
1Co 2:2  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
1Co 2:3  And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
1Co 2:4  And my speech and my preaching [was] not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
1Co 2:5  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Lord, send the demonstration of the Holy Ghost!!!!!!

Am I Having A Real Revival Experience?

Posted on Saturday 14 June 2008

One of the most popular posts we have ever made on Revival Journal is one entitled How Can I Know If I Am Having A Real Revival Experience? As we continue to hear reports from all around the world on the fire of God being poured out on His people, I thought I would take the time to repost it here for those who haven’t read it.
How Can I Know If I Am Having A Real Revival Experience?
Revival.
It’s a very caustic word to some.
It’s a source or irritation to others.
But to those of us who are hungry and desperate to find a closer walk with God, it’s the central focus of our eating, our drinking, our praying, our preaching and teaching…it’s all we think about 24/7! At least, it’s all I think about 24 hours a day, seven days a week!
But before real revival comes, and sometimes simultaneously, satan will send a counterfeit “revival†to try to discredit the true.
We have all heard the stories of wild antics being done in the name of a move of God; barking like dogs, roaring like a lion, people contorting their bodies in almost a demonic fashion. Then battle lines are drawn and people get confused over what constitutes a true move of the Spirit and what is not. Then the tendency is to simply discredit everything and throw the baby out with the bathwater.
I found these notes Jonathan Edwards wrote many years ago that need to be a guide for us as we continue to seek after and then experience a true revival experience.

How Can I Know If I Am Having A Real Revival Experience?

1. A real revival experience will raise the esteem of Jesus. People talk about “building the Kingdom†and say “it’s all about Jesusâ€; when in reality it’s all about their kingdom or their denomination. I am very disturbed by what I see happening in the American church as many mega churches are planting satellite campuses in different cities, beaming in the face a one man. Soon if this trend continues, there will only be 50 “true†pastors left in the US in the fifty major cities of the country! Every other pastor will be “useless to the “kingdomâ€! What happened to building people up into the image of Jesus and then releasing them to obey and glorify Jesus with their lives?
Please understand, I am NOT against big churches; if those churches are getting big winning the lost and not simply grabbing other churches parishioners!
When the Holy Ghost really begins to move they way we want Him to move and we need Him to move, He will not glorify a man or a building or a denomination: the Holy Ghost ALWAYS brings the focus and the attention and the recognition to rest on Jesus!

2. Real revival will impel people away from sin and lust. Real revival brings real change! Real revival brings all glory and honor to Jesus and will cause people to be sickened over the sad state of our culture, our nation and our world! When you can go to church, speak in tongues, fall out in the Spirit and then go home and cuss your wife out for burning the supper, watch naked people doing the wild thing on TV, hear people use God’s name in vain and not be grieved…you’ve not experienced real revival!
3. Real Revival will lead people back to the teachings of the Bible. That’s a real novel thought; the Bible! Not the next great book from Zondervan or Multnomah!
I remember reading about Lester Sumerall going to see Smith Wigglesworth on time. As Sumerall knocked on the door, Smith opened it up and said, “…you can leave your newspaper outside and come in!â€

4. People are lead to truth instead of error. I realize, I am only seeing one part, therefore I can only prophecy one part! Yet a real revival will not only lead me back to truth, it will give me a hunger for the truth, to know it and be set free!
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

5. Real revival will promote love among people. Prejudice will cease. Fighting will stop. Politicians will work for the people and not their own agendas! Preachers will love people and not jockey for a greater position within their denomination. Preachers will stop being charlatans, and will preach the Good News for the Love of God and not the love of money!
Father I pray for such a mighty move of your Spirit to come to America all will know that Jesus is in the house!!!!

Revival And R.W. Schambach

Posted on Friday 6 June 2008

Revival Services concluded on Wednesday night at Life Church in Rainbow City. Every service was packed with an anointing of the Holy Spirit and with hungry hearts seeking God. Numerous people were filled with the Holy Spirit; one young lady testified of being healed instantly of excruciating pain in her right leg and foot, so much so she hadn’t been able to feel her toes. God touched her and for the first time in months she felt her toes!
To God Be The Glory! God is STILL healing people today!!!!

We are not the only one’s experiencing revival where ever we go. Shawn Wilson reports of something not many have heard about from Jena Louisiana. Jena was in the news last fall I believe because of some racial problems that had erupted. But God used the local pastors to come together for what was to be a four night reconciliation revival that lasted at least 7 weeks! And from I can understand it touched every denomination in the city! Go to Shawn’s blog and get the update! And thanks Shawn for linking us together!

Finally, today I had the wonderful honor of being able to personally meet and spend some time with Evangelist R.W. Schambach. Bro. Schambach is an elder statesman in the Full Gospel movement, having worked with A.A. Allen during the healing revival in the 50’s and 60’s; and has seen thousands of people healed, delivered and set free from satan’s dominion in over 60 years of ministry. Pastor Shane Smith, Pastor Mark Messer and I had the honor of having him lay hands on us. I especially wanted him to pray for us for our upcoming overseas trips we are conducting this year. He is one of the most down to earth “big time†preachers you will ever meet! Thanks Bro. Schambach for taking some time with some little guys!
