“Can you read that?†I asked. “Yes,†the student said as he continued reading the cover of the bright green book standing up on our info table in the Student Union. He opened it and began reading the first page aloud. “I’ve never read this before,†he said. “Would you like to have it?†I asked. The young Arab man said yes. I clutched the book to my heart and said, “I will give this as a gift to you. This book changed my life.†Salim gladly received the book. As we continued to talk, I found out he is from Saudi Arabia, and is studying at NAU. In his hands he held his very first Arabic Bible.

A student from Saudi Arabia, a country closed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, just received a copy of God’s word in his native language. God is such a strategic God. Who else would have designed universities that draw thousands of students from closed countries to America where they can hear God’s word?!

This semester several students have given their lives over the Jesus and are growing by leaps and bounds. Lives are being transformed from inward-looking to outward-focused, from quiet desperation to overflowing joy. How is this happening? By the dynamic power of the amazing Holy Spirit!

When people hear that we are missionaries in Utah, the questions we get asked most are: Are Mormons really converting and coming to Jesus? Do they TRULY know the difference? Are they being discipled? The answer is YES! The story below from a young man who decided to leave the Mormon Church. This is happening more and more - God is changing the hearts of the young adults in Utah and the changed lives in our church continue to prove it.



Dear Bishop,
This letter represents my decision to resign from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the Mormon Church) effective immediately. I hereby withdraw my consent to being listed as a member and withdraw my consent to being subject to church rules, policies, beliefs and disciplines.

I have given this matter considerable thought and I am happily aware that my resignation cancels the effects of baptism and confirmation, withdraws the priesthood I held and revokes any temple blessings. However, God has revealed to me that his love is not delivered based on keeping laws. Rather, God’s love and grace are feely given to those that love Him. I find it deplorable that a faith can teach its people that they might one day be able to obtain the rank of gods like our creator. My God is the one and only God for ever and ever. I believe that the Book of Mormon and Book of Abraham are fabrications of the charismatic and deceitful Joseph Smith; that the Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price are further made up scripture which only loosely (at best) represent the nature of God.

I desire that my resignation be processed immediately, without any waiting periods being recognized. I am happy to finally be serving my God in a manner of love, not law. I am in humble service to him alone.

Did you know that nine out of every ten French people you meet have never read the Bible? Needless to say, they do not yet know who Jesus really is and what He has done for them! It is not that they do not have ready access to the Bible, but the French are indifferent, not sensing the need to know who Jesus is. Humanism has dominated the French culture ever since the French Revolution, when God was rejected.

Most French students I meet consider the Bible to be myth, just another book written by men. However, as they begin to investigate the Word of God, and as we pray for them, the Holy Spirit leads them into all truth. Please pray for the 90% who desperately need to know Jesus!
