The difference? New Jersey offers online access to the financial disclosure statements filed by its lawmakers. WASHINGTON, October 27, 2004 — Almost 74 percent of state legislators in office this year are seeking reelection on Nov. 2, according to an anlysis of candidate lists by the Center for Public Integrity. Researchers identified 4,787 incumbent legislators in the 44 states holding legislative elections next week.
