Finance Ministry to propose higher bank deposit guarantees
The Finance Ministry will propose to the government to raise guarantees for bank deposits from the EUR 25,000 to EUR 50,000 in response to the global financial crisis, Finance Minister Miroslav Kalousek said Tuesday. "I believe this is a sufficient step to cover the overwhelming majority of small savers," Kalousek said.
The new centre is expected to open in 2010.
