Since February 2004, Peacemakers has offered the Strong Families Parenting Project to the Trinity Church family and the community. The program began with funding from the Florida Department of Children and Families District 11 to provide child abuse and neglect prevention training to at-risk families in Miami Dade County. Utilizing a science based risk prevention curriculum entitled, "Dare to Be You.", more than two hundred (200) families have received parenting skills training, at-risk behavior prevention training (which includes drug and alcohol abuse prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention), mentoring, and associated social services.
