A key factor in the acceptance of distance learning (ON THE PART OF THE FACULTY) is its ease of use. Rather than attempting to train your instructors on which inputs to select and what remote performs which function having an outfit come in to deploy a smart touch panel system can greatly improve the experience and make it more of a joy than a burden on your faculty. Reducing the amount of troubleshooting time increases the acceptance of distance learning (ON THE PART OF THE STUDENTS).
The two predominant smart systems manufacturers are AMX and Crestron. Just as in any technology, adherents will form loyalties on either side of the decision. Both have significant pluses. Neither sells direct to the end users because there is a considerable amount of proprietary programming one must master. Using a classroom systems integrator is heavily recommended.
