Reverend Rick DuBose, Superintendent

Pastor Rick DuBose was elected as North Texas District Superintendent in 2007.  Before being elected as our Superintendent he was Assistant Superintendent from 2005 to 2007.  Pastor Rick pastored Sachse Assembly of God, now North Place Church, from 1987-2005.  While pastor at Sachse the church grew from 17 people to in excess of 800.  He also pastored at Hallsville Assembly of God, Hallsville, TX.  During his pastorate in Sachse he was honored by Sachse Chamber of Commerce “Man of the Year” in 2001.  He also served on the World Missions Board from 2001-2003, served as the North Dallas Presbyter and has been an Executive Presbyter since 2003. 

Pastor Rick has been married to Rita for 28 years.  They have three children and two grandchildren.

 

Dr. Gaylan D. Claunch, Assistant Superintendent/Missions Director

Dr. Claunch has been involved in full-time ministry since his call in 1968. He has served as on the faculty of Southwestern A/G University in Waxahachie, Texas and has served as a senior pastor for three congregations since 1978 in Texas and Oklahoma. Before his election to the office of Assistant Superintendent of the North Texas District, he served as pastor of Crossroads of Life A/G in Duncanville, Texas from 1988 to 2007. Under his leadership, the church grew from 260 to over 1000 in attendance and was one of the leading churches in missions in the District. 

Dr. Claunch served as Presbyter of the South Dallas Section from 2005-2007, an Executive Presbyter from 2007 to present, a member of the Teen Life Challenge Board in 2007, District Minister of Music from 1991-2003, a member of the District Missions Board from 2002 to the present, a member of the Board of Regents of Southwestern A/G University 2007 to present, and was elected to honorary membership in Delta Epsilon Chi in 1992. 

Dr. Claunch holds a Doctor of Ministry from Oral Roberts University, a Master of Divinity from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science from Southwestern A/G University.  He was ordained as an Assemblies of God minister in 1976.  Gaylan and Nancy Claunch have been married for the past 33 years.  They have one son, Loren, and one daughter, Lesli, who is married to  Rev. Dyran Deer; they have one daughter, DeLayna, who is almost 2 years old.

 

Reverend James R. Jackson, Secretary/Treasurer

Reverend James R. Jackson currently serves as secretary-treasurer of the North Texas District Council. Prior to his election to this position in October of 1999, Brother Jackson served as senior pastor of First Assembly of God in Gainesville, Texas, for 17 years (1982-1999). He filled the position of presbyter for the Denton Section from 1987-1999, and continues to serve the district as a general presbyter and executive presbyter, positions he has held since 1993.

Brother Jackson has worked with the district in a wide range of areas. He has served on the district Finance Committee, the district Missions Committee, and acted as chairman of the district Budget Committee. In the West Texas District, Brother Jackson held the position of District Youth Director from 1970-1976, served as a sectional presbyter for 5 years (1977-1982), and held the position of President of the Board of Directors for Teen Challenge of West Texas.

Brother Jackson has served on the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Board of Regents since 1993, and on the Board of Directors of Pleasant Hills Children’s Home in Fairfield, Texas.

Other churches he has pastored in Texasinclude First Assembly of God in Snyder (1976-1982, 1970), First Assembly of God in Wellington(1965-1970), and Cain’s Chapel in Quinlan (1962-1963, 1958-1959).

Brother Jackson is married to Rebecca "Jo" Jackson.  They have two daughters and three grand-children.
