I’m getting frustrated trying to claim my blog on Technorati. This blog used to be located at http://blog.davisvillage.com (it still is for archive purposes). I couldn’t ever claim that blog location on Technorati. Every time I try I kept getting this error:
There was a problem claiming your blog. Please try again in a few minutes. You can also go to Technorati Help >> for help claiming your blog.
I’ve tried everything in that help section, but nothing works. So I claimed this blog just as soon as I got it set up, then I moved my blog over completely. It still does some funky things on occasion though.
I’m now having the same problem with my LDS blog. I get the same error when I try to claim it. I’ve tried a few things:
I deleted all my posts from the database, then tried to claim it. I wasn’t sure if there were some funny characters or something that the technorati bots were getting hung up on. I tried disabling ALL my plugins. That didn’t work. I tried changing my template to the default and the classic. Neither worked. I’ve searched the internet and have yet to find anything useful…
One think I tried did provide some interesting results. I deleted all the files and reinstalled a fresh copy of WordPress. Then I was able to claim my blog! After claiming it, I move my old files back over and reconnected to my original database. CRASH! I still have the claim to LatterdayBlog.com, but after another ping, it doesn’t seem to exist to Technorati.
When I look at the details for this blog on Technorati, all I see is:
Huh?
There are blogs, and then there’s whatever you just typed in. If it’s a blog, we don’t know about it. Maybe you made a typo. Or maybe it’s a blog that doesn’t exist. Maybe you don’t exist. (In which case, please ignore this.)
Anyone else experienced the same frustrations? Anyone found a solution to the problem?
