hey gang,
here are a few tracks, that we are calling the bedroom covers. as you may have guessed, all these songs are covers… and yes, we did them at home in my room! the songs that you hear here are just songs we really really like. we didn't deliberate over which songs to pick. we didn't try to stick to a certain time period or genre. we just recorded songs we were going to be playing around the house anyway...

these songs sound the way they do, because we recorded them with a laptop and one mic. we used mainly acoustic guitars and shakers because that's what we had lying around, and we couldn't make much noise in our apartment anyway. we didn't spend time arranging any of these either. we learned the chords and the lyrics (which was pretty easy because we've heard all these songs hundreds of times), and we played 'em. what you hear at the basis of the recording is generally a first take.

what a good version. it sounds really sincere and pure.
and "why don't they let us fall in love?" is one of my favorite phil spector recorded songs, although it's actually attributed to Veronica, not The Ronettes (not that there's any real difference).

It's very good version, a lovely song too. All may not agree, but it's each to their own. I still prefer The Smiths version though, naturaly.

May as well say: "Hey guys, well - I replicated this Picasso in 5 minutes with cardboard, a ballpoint pen and some dogshit... I mean, you like Picasso, right? Cool... and, you know, if you criticize me you just a sellout and I will adamantly defend myself on this board (anonymously)."

This kinda goes to show that (really) anybody can claim to be an artist these days - yet fail to possess the will to produce practiced, beautiful, talented pieces - but rather sloppily arranged utterances in their bedroom, followed by the aforementioned list of excuses. I sometimes with that I'd been around in the 1920's-60's... when being (or claiming to be) a musician actually meant something genuine - not fleeting an accessible to anybody who can recklessly press buttons or plug a mic into a computer.
