Hi there,

I was browsing through the info on digital and I spotted Moz on the Benicassim highlights programme on 25th July at 11.15pm UK time on ITV2. I had a look on the ITV website and it says its at 10.15pm. Anyway, he's on TV at some point!

Thanks for this,
considering the coverage for the Wireless Festival on channel 4 was frankly terrible.
They showed two Moz songs. 'First of the Gang' and 'Irish Heart...'. BLAH how typical.

...not because I don't wish to see Moz, just that these highlights are always terrible, I've just read the review on ITV's website, it doesn't even mention him, just a whole load of crap artists and bands. So they'll probably only show one song, and it'll be terribly predictable, first of the gang, or IBEH or something like that. God I wish they'd show Life Is A Pigsty or WDYFOFY or Death Of A Disco Dancer or something! Plus I'm working early tomorrow. So I probably won't be missing much. Though maybe some kind soul will put it on youtube if its any good.......

Do you think Moz put the band up to that? It was funny to see Boz with the message "Dead in the Bath" (at least I think that's what it said!) written across his bare chest.Very reminiscent of Moz during his days in the Smiths with "Marry Me" on his chest on Top Of The Pops.

It was apparently a very hot night in Spain, as the band was shirtless and Moz was dripping.

Just the two songs mentioned by other posters - and both performed dreadfully. Moz seemed to have lost the ability to sing, and I have to say that the band completely slaughtered "Last of the Famous..." This is an example of where the "dull, soulless, plodding" accusations come from. It was embarassing to watch.

Having said that, though, I wish that they showed more than 2 songs - the whole set couldn't have been this bad!

Boz interview (on forum) (Score:0)
He says "People Growe Up" is going to be on the new album, and "Paris" is the first single.

Why, oh why, oh why??

Paris is pleasant, but at best an album track. I mean, I knew "Paris" would be on Years of Refusal, and I think it's nice enough, but it strikes me as something that would act like "Used to be a Sweet Boy" or "Lazy Sunbathers" on Vauxhall, e.g. a solid album track, good in its place, but never a lead single.

As for "People Grow Up", I cannot BELIEVE this is going to be on the new record. It is UTTER SHITE and has already been released on the Greatest Hits Package. Hell, I'd rather they recycled All You Need Is Me on the new album if they must do that, because at least that's a catchy tune - but even then, with Alain's tracks plus Boz's three (Paris, Black Cloud, Farewell) there should be more than enough without having to resort to rehashing already released material)

I just don't get it. "Goodbye Farewell", "Skull" and "Mama" are all excellent, any would be a better first single than "Paris" - AND Alain has provided 12 tunes so it's not like they're short of material. I despair of a situation where "My Dearest Love", a strong song, does NOT end up on the new album but the utter waste of space that is People Grow Up does. I had deluded myself into thinking that Morrissey knew that "Grow Up" was mediocre, hence chucking it out as a filler for Greatest Hits. But here we go again, he's decided this dire song deserves more coverage, perhaps wasn't satisfied with its chart position, so now it must sully the new album.

Seriously, if this be true it is appalling news and we know now that at least one of the 12 tracks is among the worst he's ever written - AND has already had an airing. Why, oh why, Morrissey?

PS Boz also says that "Black Cloud" is on the album, but "Football Giveaway" was something he wrote for a TV documentary and is not.

If "People Grow Up" is on there, I may not buy the album. Seriously. Unless the rest of the record outclasses Vauxhall, this would be enough to put me off.

Of the six billion or more of us on this rock, Morrissey is the one I hold above ALL others. Just wanted to make myself clear on that first.

It's the easist thing in the world to do. To be overtly critical of another. Even the laziest, most unintelligent, talentless slobs amongst us can do it, BUT...

Alan Carr on rhythm guitar? Come ON!Sister, I'm a poet!

Secondly and obviously not Moz's fault; I DO NOT want to have to trawl through DRIVEL such as Gnarls Barkley and The Babyshambles to see 'The Great One'. Even clicking 'next chapter' you are STILL KEPT WAITING!!! ARG!!!

If I wanted some Bacardi...I'd buy some.
If I wanted to shop at Sainsbury's...I'd shop there.

I DON'T need remimding that they exist!!!

Wish they'd shown more Moz. Capitalist monkeys!
