The rebirth of the nation of Israel, after almost 2,000 years of exile, is no doubt one of the greatest signs we have that Christ's return is imminent. However, the Jews have not returned for a blessing. Much to the contrary: they have returned for a curse. The prophet Jeremiah said that the return of the Jews to their homeland would mark "the time of Jacob's [Israel's] trouble" (Jer. 30 v 7).
