Grocery Store Deals

Kroger/Dillons: Mix and Match sale continued!

Kroger stores are continuing the incredible Mix and Match sale this week! You can see some of the deals available here and here. Also, be sure to go here to see some of the great deals readers here snagged last week.

As always, these deals might vary somewhat by region so check your ad to make sure your store is participating.

200
One of my favorite deals is the ScotchBrite Nail Saver Sponges. They are on sale for $1 and a part of the Buy 10, Get $5 off sale. So, using this coupon, they are free to begin with. Plus, you'll earn $0.50 overage for each one you buy as a part of the mix and match sale.

Meijer: 4 Kraft salad dressings for $0.64

Kraft

Kraft salad dressings are on sale 3 for $5 each this week. When you buy 4, you also get a $4 catalina (a coupon you can use like cash on your next shopping order).

Buy 4 dressings, use two $1/2 coupons here, and you'll pay about $0.64 out of pocket after the coupons and catalina! What a deal!

Thanks, Mama of Boys!

Super Savings Saturday: Kroger, Aldi, and pears

We spent $39 at the store this week. Here's what we bought:

043

You can read more of the details of this trip here.

My sister also stopped by Wal-Mart on Thursday and picked up five pounds of bananas for us at $0.19 per pound (another grocery store offers bananas for $0.19/lb. on Thursdays so she just price-matched at Wal-Mart since it's right on the way to our house).

So our total altogether was $39 for groceries this week--including diapers! You can see our menu for this week here, in case you're interested.

We also saved money by creatively using two grocery sacks of pears which were given to us. Read more about what we did with those here.

Those are a few ways we saved money this week. How'd you do this week? Post about the deals and bargains you were able to snag this week or other ways you saved money on your blog (with pictures, if possible!) and then come back here and leave your link below. **To make it easy for everyone to navigate quickly through the links, your link must link directly to your Super Savings Saturday post.**

Kroger/Dillons: Mix and Match sale--Deals good through November 11, 2008

Images
There are lots of great deals at Dillons this week. Go here to see the huge list Lorrie has compiled with deals and coupon match-ups. Lots of freebies or near-freebies!

I know that many of you have also gotten some great deals and steals at Dillons or Kroger this week so I'm posting a Mr. Linky below for you to share your posts on Kroger deals. I can't wait to see what you've found! I'll be planning my grocery trip in a few days and using these to help me figure out the best deals.

Remember that deals at Kroger vary around the country somewhat so check your ads to see for sure if the deals listed are running at your store.

Bloom: Triple coupons this week

800px-Bloom-supermarket

Heather emailed to let me know that Bloom stores are also offering triple coupons November 7-November 9, 2008.

I'm beginning to think it's national Triple Coupon Week or something since at least three different store chains are offering triple coupons. Of course, Triple Coupons in our area is pretty much unheard of, but that's okay! I'll be glad for the deals I'm able to get and excited to see the deals those of you enjoying triple coupons are able to snag!

Publix: Deal on gift cards

Images

If you were planning on purchasing gift cards as Christmas presents for anyone and have a Publix store nearby, Michele emailed and said that in the Fall issue of their Family Style magazine there is a coupon for $10 off the purchase of any two gift cards. I'm not sure if there is a minimum gift card amount you must purchase, but this might be worth looking into if you were already going to be buying the gift cards.

Super Fresh: Triple coupon week!

Superfresh_logo

In addition to Harris Teeter's triple coupon weekend, Super Fresh is also offering triple coupons up and including $0.99 coupons this week.

More details are here. If you find some sweet deals, post about it on your blog and leave the link in the comments section.

Kroger: A heap of deals this week

Not all Kroger stores are running these deals, but many of them are so if you have a Kroger nearby, check your ad and then check out the deal posts here and here.

I'm sure a-hopin' that when our ad changes on Wednesday, these deals are in it!

Great deals at all Albertson's family of stores

You know the sweet Shaw's deal I mentioned earlier? The one where you can get lots of free food--some without even using coupons?

Well, I have even better news for you all! This deal is available at many more places than just Shaws; it's available at all the Albertson's family of stores including Albertson's, Shaws, Jewel-Osco, and Acme!

Check out Mercedes' post for more details and links.

Shaws: Lots of free food deals!

Shawk

For those of you with a Shaws nearby, you'll want to read Deal Finding Mom's posts on the free food and great deals you can snag there right now. See her posts here and here. You can even get some free food without using coupons!

Free Breyer's yogurt

NP_Breyers

The 10/26 Red Plum insert had a coupon for $0.50/1 Breyer's product. While ice cream is pictured on the coupon, the text says that it is good on ANY Breyer's product. If your store carries the single cups of Breyer's yogurt, this coupon will make them free or almost free. If your store doubles coupons, these should be free plus overage!

Thanks, Kasey!

Dillons: Deals good through November 4, 2008

Pole_dillons_bg_2

Since I now live in the land of Dillons again (a Kroger affiliate store), I'm going to try to keep you up-to-date with the best deals there, when there are deals there to speak of. Some of these deals will be available at other Kroger stores across the nation, some are likely only good for those with actual Dillons stores.

Go here to read the listing that Lorrie has put together for deals there including vegetables and shampoo for $0.17 each!. And go here to read how you can get free Idahoan potatoes this week.

And yes, I'm highly motivated now and going to "take the plunge" into modern technology and try my hand at the e-coupons. I just can't pass up such sweet deals. Stay tuned to hear how it goes for me after my next shopping trip!

Yesterday's shopping trip: Aldi and Kroger (Dillons)

286

There weren't any screaming deals at Dillons (Kroger-affiliate) this week, so I just stopped by to see if I could score any markdowns on produce or milk. Sure enough, I was able get organic bananas marked down to $0.37/lb, Horizon Organic milk for $2 per half gallon, and bagged salads for $1.49 each. I also picked up some wheat germ and yogurt which I'll be using for our Baking Day today.

At Aldi, I purchased two cartons of strawberries, grapefruit, carrots, applesauce, raisins, and four things of frozen juice concentrate.

All in all, I spent $10.23 at Dillons and $14.20 at Aldi. That should last us through the end of this week, so I'm well under our $40 budget this week! Yay!

Stay tuned for more on our Baking Day today.

Cell Fire: New e-coupons released

Cell fire

Cell Fire has released new e-coupons that can be loaded on your cell phone or Kroger card. To read more about possible great deals you can get with these, be sure to visit Lorrie and Lizzy.

I am still trying to figure out this e-coupon thing since we finally have a Kroger store to use these at! I guess I'm rather old-fashioned in preferring to use paper coupons but maybe I'll get the hang of these high-tech coupons someday so I can pull in some even sweeter deals.

Maybe
, but don't count on it since I'm still trying to learn how to use my very basic cell phone. (And yes, my family thinks it's quite hilarious that I'm all into blogging and yet still cannot even figure out how to access the majority of the simple features on my cell phone. Oh well.)

October 28, 2008

Meijer: Lots of freebies and deals this week

Meijer
If you have a Meijer store nearby, you can get great deals this week including Jell-O for free plus $0.50 overage for each box you buy. Plus, taco shells for free-plus-overage, Kellogg's cereal for $0.25, and more!

Get the scoop on these Meijer deals here and here.

October 14, 2008

Meijer: Free-plus-overage Jell-O and much more!

Jello
If you have a Meijer close by, they have some sweet deals this week! One of the best deals is that Jell-O is priced at around $0.63 per 4-serving package. Use this $1.50/2 Meijer Mealbox coupon (page 3) to buy as much Jell-O as you'd like for free plus a little overage for each box you buy! These will likely come in handy for holiday salads so stock up while the deal's this good!

Meijer is also running the Glade catalina deal, a great deal on Taco Bell salsa, and more. See posts here, here, here and here detailing some of the deals readers found.

Kroger (possibly elsewhere?): Johnson's catalina deal

Johnson_baby_oil_original_20_fl_oz_

Many of you have been buying 3 Buddies soaps for free using the $3/3 J&J coupon from the 09/14 inserts at Kroger and then getting a $3/3 catalina coupon back which allows you to roll this deal until you've exhausted the supply of Buddies' soaps or run out of space to store them! However, Kim commented about an even better deal on J&J products which I wanted to highlight.

She said that she bought the 4 oz. Johnson's baby oils priced at $1.89 each and used the $3/3 coupon to buy them paying $0.89 each out of pocket. In addition to getting back a $3/3 coupon, she also got back $3 in catalinas! So they were not only free, but a small money-maker after the coupon and catalinas.

Best of all, once you've done this deal once, you could potentially roll it ad infinitum using the $3/3 catalina coupon and the $3 in catalinas to pay for the new bottles and, in turn, receiving another $3/3 catalina coupon and $3 in catalinas back!

Note: Kim has done this successfully at a Kroger store in Tennessee. I can't guarantee that it will work around the country, but my guess is that it likely might. It also could possibly work at other stores as well.

If you're game to try it, let us know what the results are! These baby products make great additions to gift baskets for new moms or would be perfect donations to local women's shelters.

Glade Catalina Money-Maker--available at many stores

[image] Meijer, Kmart, Safeway, Kroger Mid Atlantic, Giant Eagle, Copps/PickNSave and Stop & Shop have all reported that this catalina deal is working. It likely could be working elsewhere, too, so let us know if you try it somewhere else and it works!

Here's the catalina deal:

Buy 1 Glade Scented Oil Warmer, get a $4 catalina (A "catalina" is the term used for a coupon that prints along with your receipt. It can be used like a gift certificate off of your next order at that store.). This deal reportedly ends 11/2/08.

These are priced anywhere from $3.99 to $5.99 at most stores so if you buy two and use the B1G1 coupon from the 09/28 inserts, you'll pay anywhere from $3.99 to $5.99 out of pocket and get $8 back!

If you happen to have a stack of the B1G1 coupons, you could really profit from this deal by doing it multiple times, paying with the catalinas you earned on the last order (so that you don't pay anything out of pocket once you buy the initial two), and then using the overage towards other groceries you need to buy. (Like Beeb posted about doing here.)

Thanks to Mercedes and The Thrifty Mama for emailing in about this deal!

Kroger: New P&G eCoupons

Images

Proctor and Gamble just released new eCoupons you can load onto your Kroger or Kroger-affiliate store card. I am super stoked because in a week and a half, we'll be living within a few blocks of a Kroger store! Bargains, here I come!

There are some great eCoupons this time:

--Febreeze Noticeables $5/1. Stack this with the $5/1 manufacturer's coupon that is out and couple it with a sale for free or free-plus-overage Febreeze Noticeables! (These are on sale at some Kroger stores this week for $8.29!)

--Cover Girl B1G1 mascara. Couple this with a sale for some inexpensive makeup.

--Herbal Essence $2/2.
Stack with 2 $2/1 manufacturer's coupons to get these free or almost free.

--Crest $1/1.
Stack with $1/1 coupon and couple with a sale for free or almost-free toothpaste!

And there are many more! Go here to load up your card. Remember that these coupons can be stacked with a manufacturer's coupon but they can only be redeemed once, so make 'em count!

Thanks to Lorrie for her help in compiling this list!
