Frequently Asked Questions

I just found your site and I'm overwhelmed. Where do I start?
I recommend that you first go here and listen to this podcast and then this podcast. After that, go here and read my post on starting out slowly and not biting off more than you can chew.

How do you get multiple copies of coupons?
You can buy four or six or more newspapers, Or, you can go here to read numerous ideas for accumulating more coupons without buying more newspapers. I suggest you start with the free options first.

Do you really only spend $40 per week to feed your family? How on earth do you do this and what kinds of meals are you eating on that budget?
Yes, we really do. But I've been doing this a long time, so I have some serious experience under my belt. Don't expect to match that number if you're new to bargain-shopping or have eight children; it's just a number that works for our family. This is not a competition so please take into account your family's own unique situation when setting your grocery budget.

However, if you're curious, you can see some of our menus and shopping trips here. And if you want to know even more of the nitty-gritty details of how we do this, go here.

I want to earn money from home. How should I get started?
I often write on this subject as entrepreneurialism is something I'm passionate about. I'd encourage you to first read this post and then, if you're still interested in more ideas, go here. If you're looking for some very simple things you can do to earn money from home, there are a few links listed here.

We're looking for affordable insurance options, do you have any recommendations?
I'd highly recommend you check out Zander Insurance. We've found them to be the best source for finding affordable insurance.

Why did you delete my comment?
I moderate comments on my blog for one reason--to keep MoneySavingMom.com an upbeat and encouraging blog. Comments I deem to be rude or sharply critical, questioning another commentor's ethics, or those which could very easily spark a firestorm of debate on couponing ethics or which appear to be left solely for the purpose of advertising will very likely be deleted.

Yes, I know I sometimes upset or offend people by taking this hard stance on comments, however, there's enough negativity and infighting in the world without this blog contributing to it, so I've decided to do something different and keep things positive here. I hope you'll be kind enough to understand and accept this. If not, you are more than welcome to find another blog more suited to your tastes; I won't be offended.

Can I copy posts from your blog and share them on my blog?
All text, original photographs, and content on MoneySavingMom.com are copyrighted. Please do not copy and paste full posts without express written permission from me. However, if you find content or deals here which are helpful, I encourage you to share a paragraph or two with others on your blog or website and then provide a link back to MoneySavingMom.com. Thanks so much!
