Holy Cow! I wonder if they are trying to make us all leave CVS and Walgreens....mwahahaha! Not until that rebate system gets faster and online!

Where are Rite Aid's located? They seem to have much better deals than Walgreens and CVS.
Posted by: Jeannine | October 11, 2008 at 05:08 PM
I don't seem to find the Simply Saline coupon on Coupons.com. Can you double check that please?
Thank you!

I don't know if anyone has asked this before, but does anyone know if it's legal/ethical to use your Health Savings (HSA) or Health Spending (FSA) account to purchase these items and then get the cash rebate back for them?

Looks like they are getting ready for "cold" season!
Posted by: Tara | October 11, 2008 at 07:43 PM
Awesome! There's a Rite Aid right up the road so you can bet I'll be there early tomorrow morning (all the FAR items are always gone so fast!). And in response to The Thrifty Mama, Rite Aid's rebates are online. Last month I actually got my rebate check from them before I got my check from Walgreens.

Don't start abandoning Wags and CVS...sales like this are not all the often. I did go HOLY COW myself when I opened the ad though...Plus, in regards to the comment about being online, Rite Aid's rebate system is online. Wags basically copied RA's online system idea.

Saving Money Ideas,
The coupons are at SmartSource.com, not coupons.com.

I have never laid eyes on a Rite-aid store, but right now I'm wondering how far I would have to drive to find one!!!
Posted by: J-Mom | October 11, 2008 at 09:21 PM
rite aid does have an online rebate system and works pretty well. the downside is it can take 2-3 weeks to get your check... but the entry process is pretty easy
Posted by: brenda | October 11, 2008 at 09:31 PM
SO EXCITED!! I hate Rite Aid and it's out of my way, but this is WORTH IT! I'm so glad I didn't buy a Neti Pot last month when I was considering it - I'm so surprised it's free!
Posted by: Heather | October 11, 2008 at 09:41 PM
Rite Aid is actually closer than CVS. I will drive the extra - CVS is sooo much better.
The Rite Aids around here are notorious for not having the merchandise that is on sale. I've been told it will come in the following Tues. (after the week of the sale, so you won't get your rebate back). Been there, done that, made that mistake before.
Make sure you ask for a raincheck for items out of stock. When they are writing the raincheck be sure to ask how you can get the rebate if the item won't be in this week (you can't). Instead, my local stores have printed the raincheck and the manager reduces the price to $0.00. That way when the item does become available at the store, you simply walk in with your raincheck and get it free (you pay sales tax). You don't have to wait for a rebate check.
Recently, at my Rite aid, I redeemed several rainchecks (reduced to $0.), and used manufacturers coupons for the items, I picked up several free after rebate items and paid less than $5.00 for a whole bag of stuff. I submitted my receipt online for Single check rebate, and at the end of the month I will receive back $7.00 for that trip. They will pay me almost $2.00 to take their stuff!

I had read somewhere that Rite-Aid does not take internet printable coupons???
Posted by: Juanita | October 12, 2008 at 08:13 AM
Jane, re your HSA account. I don't see why it would be unethical to do this. It's your money in the HSA already and you are just getting your $$ back out of it, right? I've done this before with no qualms.

The links to the Neil Med and the Simply Saline are not working. These products are not displayed anymore. You can get a coupon for the NeilMed Neti Pot here though (just type in Name, Email and Country and they will send you a $2.00 off coupon in your email):

i didn't find the links correct on most of the coupons but i found coupons for netipot and other products on the manufacturers website. i wonder if they took down the coupons for the products on sale?
Posted by: vika | October 12, 2008 at 01:16 PM
I just got back from my trip to Rite-Aid. They made everything so convenient and have everything that was "free" on one shelf so all I had to do was grab one of each item! I was in and out in five minutes! What a great shopping experience with great customer service!
Posted by: Ashley | October 12, 2008 at 01:30 PM
I don't have a Rite Aid close to me, can I order all of this online and then submit for a rebate???
That would be even better than having to go to the store since I don't have qs for any of them, if they don't accept IPs.

Hi, i can't find the Neti Pot or the simply saline coupons on the smart source link. any ideas? Thanks!
Posted by: Ginger | October 12, 2008 at 02:22 PM
Some Sucrets Complete packages have a $1.50 rebate peelie.
This is the first time I made the trip on Sunday. This time, it was worth it.

I looked for the coupons at smart source and coupons. com I did not find them at either. What zip code do you live in?
Posted by: heidi | October 12, 2008 at 06:03 PM
My Rite Aid will not accept printable coupons, but I still got almost every item on the list in time to treat the colds in the family. Also, to respond to Jane's question about flexible spending accounts, when you complete the form for reimbursement, you are usually asked to sign that you have not been otherwise reimbursed for the expenses you are submitting. Although that would usually mean insurance, rebates are also a reimbursement. The IRS code that governs these is pretty clear that any other reimbursement means you are not eligible under the flexible spending account.

Here is a link to my original post on this at my blog. All of the coupon links take you to the coupons where I found them. Not all the coupons are at Smart Source, just the Simply Saline.

Is anyone having trouble printing from neilmed site? I entered my email like it asks but do not receive an email from them for any coupons.
Posted by: maya andrews | October 13, 2008 at 04:20 PM
The rite aid I normally deal with does not take internet coupons...bummer.
Posted by: Elsie | October 13, 2008 at 06:40 PM
The cashier wouldn't accept my internet coupons. I spoke with the manager and he said that he would accept them because Rite-Aid keeps changing its policy and he wasn't sure what it was now. He thinks that they are no longer accepting internet coupons unless they are from the Rite-Aid site.
Posted by: Cassie | October 13, 2008 at 09:47 PM
I love the deals this week! No problems at all! The NeilMed Pediatric Sinus Rinse had a $1 peelie at my RA.
Posted by: Kristin | October 14, 2008 at 05:34 AM
Thanks for the heads up on all the free after rebate items! Too bad my RiteAid doesn't take internet coupons, but I still made money on my shopping trip yesterday!
Posted by: Heather | October 14, 2008 at 05:39 AM
My Rite Aid (in PA) does not take internet printable coupons either. The FAR items were easy to find (in only two locations) though some items were gone already.
You can get the Fun Size bags of candy bars for a dollar each if you use the $1/2 coupons. They were in the coupons you get through the mail during the week.
Posted by: Adele | October 14, 2008 at 07:09 AM
My riteaid also in Pa (altoona) wouldn't take the internet coupons either, although I had a internet coupon for Children's Throat Cooler that was listed above and she took it (she didn't realize it was a internet printed one), but it only took off 2.50 and not 2.99. I wasn't going to complain though.
Posted by: Beth | October 14, 2008 at 10:40 AM
The Sucrets at my Rite Aid had a $1.50 rebate form attached to them! Extra bonus to look for :)
Posted by: Courtney | October 14, 2008 at 10:57 AM
Here is a link to a Rite Aid coupon good for a $30 gift card with transferred rx. http://www.riteaid.com/pharmacy/prescription_transfer.jsf. I don't live near a Rite Aid, but this would certainly make these free after rebate items an even better deal.
Posted by: Kris | October 14, 2008 at 01:56 PM
I went to my Rite Aid this evening and got a bunch of the freebies. I also had a transferred prescription so I was able to take advantage of that as well. I asked the cashier if I could use internet coupons and she said she didn't see why not, so I was able to use those. I might even go back tomorrow and get some of the things on the list that I don't need/use just to make the money off of them. I can always find someone to give them to.
Posted by: Leanne | October 14, 2008 at 06:39 PM
My Rite Aid did take printable coupons. In relation to the printable coupons I read this article which also has a letter you can take to the store. The letter is for grocery stores but you could also try to take it to Rite Aid if you are upset about it.
http://couponing.about.com/b/2008/10/06/a-letter-to-grocery-stores-about-printable-coupons.htm
There was also a $1 off coupon for Advil from 10/12 Red Plum. I posted all the links and some other good deals on my site

Just came back from Rite-Aid! Great sale, and I also received rainchecks for out of stock items. I also found a nice wireless keyboard and mouse for $7.49 (normally 29.99) on clearance while I was there! Score!
