Tipjoy - The New Way to Give Tips and Make Money

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to the RSS feed. Not sure what RSS is? Find out. Thanks for visiting!

Giving tips online for digital goods and content isn’t that new, but now there’s a new way of going about it.

Tipjoy is a tipping service that allows Internet users to simply make one click to tip you and you automatically earn 10 cents. Here’s how it works… let’s say I read a really good blog post and learned something of value. I would then click the tip button (if the blog owner has Tipjoy installed) and that blogger gets 10 cents (or whatever higher amount I feel is necessary).

Tipjoy then sends me an e-mail at the end of the month reminding me to pay my bill and I make one lump sum payment via PayPal. The money gets allocated accordingly to each blog I’ve tipped during the month and everyone is happy.

Users who wish to donate deposit a small sum of money at the beginning of the month from their PayPal account into their Tipjoy account. The average is about $5-$10. During that month the user can browse through blogs and read what he/she finds interesting. If appropriate, a tip would be left and that blog owner would get their money at the end of the month. Think of it as a friendly gesture to reward bloggers, who make up a majority of the Internet today.

How do I make money?

Having the Tipjoy widget installed on your blog literally takes 30 seconds to do. You set the default amount you wish to receive as a tip and then wait for those generous tippers to come along. :)

I’ve decided to install it on my blog to give it a try. As you can see, it’s on the right in the sidebar. By default I set the amount to 50 cents and will donate any money I make from it to charity. While some may buy a coffee, I’m not that big on my Starbucks, so charity is my choice.

Not quite sure if it’s for you? Check out the FAQ page first.

Give it a try, it’s free to join!

How to Get Advertisers for Your Blog

Getting advertisers for your blog can be a challenging process if you don’t know how to do it. Wine aficionado and entrepreneur, Gary Vaynerchuk, shows you how to get advertisers in only a few minutes using a VERY simple method. This guy is a genius and very inspirational.

How to Make Money with HubPages

HubPages is a service that lets you create a simple site in a matter of minutes; most popularly used for making landing pages. The thing about HubPages is that Google loves them and ranks their site very high among search resaults. Gary Conn shows you how to use this knowledge to your advantage, and gives you a walk through on how you can use this service to make money using several different methods.

‘Best Posts’ Plugin for WordPress

If you’re a blogger that loves to show off your best work, there’s a plugin to help you do that. The WP Best Posts plugin allows you to post summaries of your most popular posts, as sorted by view count, comment count or link popularity. You can easily create a “best of” page to display summaries of your top posts. It’s also a great way to show new readers visiting your blog for the first time what your site has to offer.

Get Your Own Customized Twitter Shirt

If you’re a big enough geek, you may consider wearing a shirt with your Twitter username on it. A site called MadeFromDolly.com is selling what they bill as “The Tweet Shirt”. You simply enter your Twitter username and for $15, they will print it on the front of the shirt for you. On the back, it reads “Follow Me”. It’s a clever idea, but I don’t think I’d wear one though.

PPC Bully Review - Should You Buy It?

November 14th, 2008 posted by Chris Jacobson · 2 Comments

Should You Buy PPC Bully?

PPC Bully is a new software program that helps you manage your pay per click campaigns more efficiently. If you’ve been looking for a way to increase your conversion rates with pay per click advertising, you may be in luck. I’ve read various reviews of the software, mostly positive, but some negative. I decided to purchase it on Monday and have been using it for the last 4 days.

I was always a fan of Google AdWords, but I’ve always found it a bit difficult to manage and keep track of multiple running campaigns.

From PPC Bully’s website…

Bully is our unique feature through which we run a full scan of Google up to 24 times a day! With this unique capability, you will be able to define part of your keywords as “Bully Keywords” and have a more comprehensive view of them. You will be able to track the number of times a day the top performing ads are shown and figure out those times in a day when successful ads are not shown.

You can choose one project as Bully, If you have 5% of your keywords in that project those keywords will be scanned 24 times a day! if you have 10% of your keywords there they will be scanned 12 times a day and so on…

This is a great feature that can gives you a great competitive information and you can optimize your PPC by the hour.

Take a look at how an ordinary PPC campaign failure is measured without PPC Bully:

As you can see, a lot of time is spent on trial and error, which eats up a lot of your valued time where you could spending it on other more important tweaks. After implementing PPC Bully into your campaigns, here’s what your efforts should look like:

Overall, I’m very impressed. At first I was a bit weary of the cost, but after speaking with several marketers who I trust and value the opinions of, I decided to give it a go. The 60 day refund policy is also reassuring to know, but I doubt I’ll be taking advantage of it. After 4 days of using PPC Bully, I can honestly say I made back the cost of the program is only one day by using their unique PPC management system. If you’re serious about pay per click advertising for your affiliate products, there’s no other choice out there right now than this.

Using the Power of Press Releases for Website Traffic

November 12th, 2008 posted by Chris Jacobson · 2 Comments

Submitting a press release to get the word about your website or product is still the fail safe method for gaining major exposure. All the big name players in the Internet marketing business use press releases to boast their product, and so should you.

There are free press releases, and then there are those in which you pay a little for.

I’ve used both, but I prefer to pay a few bucks to have mine submitted.

Let’s take a look at some of the main press release sites in more detail.

Free-Press-Release.com

This is your best bet for submitting a press release if you don’t have much money to spend (or none at all). Your release shows up immediately on their site and can be viewed by thousands within 24 hours. If you don’t have an entire day to wait until your submission goes live, you may consider paying $1 to have it out there within 4 hours. Still too long? Splurge for a $5 release and have it go live within 1 hour. There are added benefits to each package available on their site. You may want to familiarize yourself with all features before deciding on which one is best for you.

PRunderground.com

This is your mid-grade press release service that starts at $9.95 per submission. While not as popular as some other services, PRunderground.com will definitely give you the exposure you’re seeking. Each package available guarantees you front page exposure on their site and they’ll even submit your material to Google News. If you’re new to press releases or just not good at writing them, PRunderground.com will write it for you at a cost of $69.95. They will also provide you with the most benefits available, as this is part of their platinum package.

PRWeb.com

This is strictly a pay service, and probably the most important site you can ever submit to. PRWeb starts at $80 and goes all the way up to $360. The cost can certainly be worth it depending on how serious you are about your business. For the minimum cost, your release is submitted to Yahoo! News, Google News and is seen for only two days. For the top of the line press release, which runs you $360, PRWeb promises to give you mainstream media exposure in the Associated Press and other media feeds. Of course, the choice is up to you, and there are even two other mid grade options to choose from. Many have said when you’re launching a product for the first time, there is no other service to use than PRWeb.

Over the years, press releases have been criticized by some as a way for marketers to spam their message or pimp their product. It all depends on how you write it. If your release sounds more like a sales pitch, it will do you more harm than good and you’ll be marked as a spammer. If you write the release in a way that explains your product’s details in a professional manner, you’ll gain more credibility from your audience. You can then simply add a line at the bottom with your link, such as, “For more information on (product name), please visit: http://www.”

If you leverage the power of press releases properly and extend your brand in a manner that’s professional, and informative, you will definitely find that they can benefit your business venture in ways you could have only imagined.

Learn Ryan Moran’s $100 Per Day Method for Free

November 10th, 2008 posted by Chris Jacobson · 4 Comments

I first got to know Ryan Moran in July 2006, when I joined the Rich Jerk program. Ryan was a fellow member there and we got to know each other through the RJ forum. Since then, Ryan has pretty much been on the same journey to success as I have. He’s even been the mastermind behind SpaceBankers, a program that shows marketers how to leverage the power of MySpace.

Recently he made a thread stating his steps to success and highlighting how he created a $100 a day funnel of cash in only four days. The Internet marketing community has a lot of respect for this young college dorm entrepreneur and he always delivers on his material.

Ryan has now made public a FREE PDF file explaining exactly what he did to start earning $100 a day from his dorm room. I downloaded it on Friday and it’s definitely something I felt needed to be passed on to you, my readers.

I don’t have a revolutionary method that I’ve invented or coined. I’ve never done a legendary product launch. I’ve never been a company’s #1 affiliate (although I have been in the top five for several). I don’t know diddlysquat about black hat marketing, and the one time that did go black hat I tried to give the commissions back to the company because I felt so guilty.

Instead, I like to keep things simple. Yes, I like to build lists, use video marketing, and create products. However, my main income STILL, to this day, comes from a very simple process that I put together on accident.

If you’re thinking it’s the same rehashed material you read everywhere else, you’re wrong. Ryan’s methods are unique and outside of the box — that’s what makes him so successful. The great thing is that you can use this same method over and over in different ways without spoiling or saturating it.

You can’t go wrong with FREE, so head on over to Ryan’s website and download the PDF explaining step-by-step how to make $100 a day. Seriously. Go and download it right now!
