January 2007 Silicon Valley MoMo

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

Because the first Monday of January is New Years Day, we’re going to be pushing the first meeting of 2007 back by a week. We’re really kicking it off with a bang though. We’ve got two speakers with a ton of experience to tap into and a great topic. Here’s the info in MoMo standard format:

What: January 2007 Mobile Monday (Dealing with Device Proliferation) When: January 8th, 2007 7:00pm Where: AOL Building 12, 401 Ellis St., Mountain View, CA Who: Anyone interested in mobility Cost: Nothing!

We’ve got two speakers lined up for the evening:

Barbara Ballard - from Little Springs Design will talk about various strategies for handling the multiple-device rendering problem, including class-based design: a hybrid approach that both reduces costs over some approaches and improves the user experience. Tom Park - Director of Engineering at Hands-On Mobile is going to talk about the development end of dealing with device proliferation. Device proliferation is a topic that affects all mobile developers, whether the content is delivered via SMS, WAP, or Java/BREW clients. This talk will focus on the problems and solutions for efficiently deploying JavaME apps to hundreds of phones.

Should be a fantastic evening, hope to see you all there!

- Mike
