Meetings About Mobility, the first Monday of the Month
30 Sep
Jeff has already posted the information on his blog. The October event on Mobile Search will be at Google, here are the essential details:
We are asking for folks to pre-register this time so that we can get a feel for the size of the group. There are enough of us now that logistics can be tricky. The lineup looks fantastic!
We were going to try out the format that the Search SIG used last time, a panel discussion at the start and then demos from the companies afterward. I’m always a big fan of live demos. See you all then!

The topic for Mobile Monday next month is Mobile Search. It’s going to be a combined event with the SDforum Search SIG. Jeff Clavier posted about the event recently:
As I announced previously, we will be organizing the October session in conjuction with our friends of Mobile Monday on Mobile Search. If you have a mobile search service or application, and would be interested in presenting/demoing/launching at the event, feel free to contact us (searchsig [at] gmail [dot] com).
A few people at the event last night said they were interested in presenting, and I promised I would get contact info up. If you have a proposal please send it along.

Nice turnout last night, considering that I didn’t send out the email unti the last minute, and much of the information on it was wrong. :-) Next month will be better, promise (I can promise, because I’m not the only one organizing it.). Thanks again to Erik, Stewart, Chris, Rich and Mike for presenting and thanks to all the attendees - we had some great conversations afterwards as well. And of course, thanks to Yahoo! for saving my ass and giving us the great meeting space with lots of room!
As always, you can check out the photos on Flickr tagged ‘mobilemonday’.
See you next Month! Topic: Mobile Search, held in conjunction with the SDForum Search SIG. It’s going to rock!

A new record in lateness… This is what happens when I promise Mike “I’ll handle it this month, no worries…”
Tonight’s Mobile Monday meetup is being held at Yahoo! The topic is Mobile Photos and Imaging and these great people have agreed to speak:
(That list may flux a bit as I’ve done as good a job at confirming speakers as I have notifying you, but most are confirmed). And of course, we’ll have the Elmo in case anyone would like to give an impromptu demo of something they’re working on.
Here’s the map and directions to Yahoo!
You can find the official directions here, which I’ll reprint here so you have it:
7:00 p.m. - Yahoo! Inc.
701 First Avenue
Sunnyvale, California 94089
Phone (408) 349-3300
Directions:
From San Jose:
From San Francisco:
(If you miss the 237 exit off 101 South, continue to Lawrence Expressway North exit. Turn left and continue on Lawrence Expressway North, which turns into Caribbean Way. First Avenue is a few miles up on the right side.)
Here’s the Yahoo Maps page and remember, you can send the directions to your phone as well. :-)
You’ll see a main gate, check in and I think they’re going to send you around to the back garage where you’ll enter directly into the classroom C & D area above the URLs Cafe (in case you’ve been here before). This is open to everyone, so just show up and come on in.
Sorry again for the late notice. See you tonight!
