January location and topic
Thursday, December 23rd, 2004I just got word back from Michael O’Rourke that we can have the January 10th, 2005 meeting at Dimension7. Dimension7 is at 150 Folsom Street in San Francisco. There are going to be some updates to the organization of the events in the New Year. The experiment has succeeded, and although the group has morphed from Bay Area Mobility Forum into Mobile Monday the group of people gathering just gets better and better every time. Lots of people have been clamoring for more organization and more consistency in the main events. OK, we can do that.
I’ve also spoken to some of the folks who have helped Mobile Monday grow in other areas and decided to use some of the guidelines they have in running their meetings. The first is that they always pick a theme for the meeting and do three or four short presentations (about 15 minutes each). Sounds like a great place to start. So this time the theme is going to be “The Mobility Ecosystem in the Bay Area”. I’m going to do a short presentation on what Mobile Monday itself is to kick that off. The other speakers aren’t decided yet. So if you have an interesting program (for developers, users, partners, research, whatever!) let me know if you would be interested in giving a quick presentation on January 10th. Contact me at miker at bitsplitter.net and let me know what you would like to speak about.
