Thanks Everyone!

We had a great forum yesterday! About 30 people showed up on a Saturday afternoon, from all over the Bay Area. Awesome. I want to thank Ray for giving a really informative presentation and for everyone participating and making it a really interactive event. Everyone seemed to really want to learn about BREW and Ray could barely get past the first few slides before he was being peppered with questions and observations. That sort of energy continued through the entire event and though some people had to leave, at the three hour mark there was more than half of the attendees still hanging out chatting. Very cool. And thanks again to Michael O’Rourke for letting us use his studio at Dimension 7, it’s really a great place to do something like this. Very open and cool - with long benches for most everyone, and couches and beanbags at the back.

Now we’ve got to start planning for October’s meeting. Were you there yesterday? Any thoughts on how we can improve the event? What would you like to see, not see? We’ve going to do a “business” session next time for those of you who thought the past couple of sessions were too technical. We’re going to start working on who we can get to speak pretty much immediately and your thoughts are welcome!

Thanks again to everyone who made it a great event!

Discussion Topics

Tuesday, September 21st, 2004

After our first meeting some people expressed interest in having a more structured conversation after the main presentation. If there are particular areas that you would like to talk about at this next BAMF meeting (Saturday September 25th, 2004) please post a comment here describing what you’re interested in and if you would be interested in being a discussion leader for the topic. Discussion leaders would be responsible for making sure the discussion keeps moving and making sure it doesn’t jump off track. If for some reason you can’t or don’t want to post a comment here on the blog, you can mail me at miker@bitsplitter.net instead. We’ll take a quick poll at the meeting and divide up according to what the hot topics seem to be. I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!
