ASUS P565 With An 800 MHz CPU

Despite a few pics and specs that leaked on the Internet, ASUS managed to keep its P565 headset very secret for quite some time. Now, those waiting days are over and fans worldwide can admire the new device on the official website.

This Glide UI and HSDPA smartphone is according to the manufacturer the fastest PDA phone ever made. It runs on WinMo 6.1 and boasts with an 800MHz Marvell CPU, 256MB flash memory and 128MB of DDR SDRAM, 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, a microSD slot with SDHC support and a generous 2.8-inch touchscreen.

The details on pricing and availability remain to be announced. We’ll keep you posted!

Samsung SPH-W6050 Is Available In Korea

South Korea is the dream land for all mobile fans because many famous manufacturers use this market to release some beautiful and powerful handsets.

For example, Samsung has just unveiled there its new SPH-W6050 model. The phone features a 5-megapixel camera (with AutoFocus), a 3-inch LCD with WVGA (800 x 480) resolution and an interesting OMNIA design. Also, it sports a mobile TV tuner (DMB), a microSD card slot and a haptic user interface.

It’s a great phone but unfortunately you’ll have to add a trip to Seoul to the ?800,000 ($575) price tag.

HTC MAX 4G Is The First GSM / WiMAX Phone In The World

Sprint and GSM were never a winning duo on the US market but there’s always hope. Apparently the new HTC WiMAX handset will save the day riding on its CDMA radio.

The phone was known in the past as the T8920 but now it hits the market as the MAX 4G. It features an 800 x 480 resolution, 8GB of Flash, FM radio, two cameras, WiFi, GPS and triband EDGE. The WiMAX support is the most important feature because this is the forst phone in the world offering it.

The phone calls between two MAX 4G terminals will be made via VoIP on the WiMAX airwaves.

HTC MAX 4G will be officially released on Scartel’s Yota network in Russia but the date remains to be announced.

Nokia Wahoo

Boy Genius has unveiled one of Nokia’s best kept secrets: the Wahoo. It seems that this new flip phone has AT&T written all over and we should all enjoy its pics and specs.

Nokia Wahoo is a quad-band clamshell that boasts with a unique half-QWERTY keypad, a 1.36-inch external unit, an internal 2.2-inch QVGA display, A2DP support and a microSD expansion. If you’re planning to use the phone as an audio gadget I think you should know that the Finnish manufacturer still uses the 2.5mm headphone jack.

LG’s SH470 Slider Unveiled In South Korea

Even if the new SH470 model from LG resembles a lot to the KF510, the manufacturer added a Cyon branding and a dark motif and presented it in South Korea as a completely new handset.

This slider looks great and measures only 10.9-mm in thickness. It has a metal frame and features a 2.2-inch display, an ambient light sensor that will detect the surrounding light conditions and use them to automatically adjust the brightness level and a 2-megapixel camera.

There is no information on pricing and release date.

Samsung’s E1110 / E2510 Handsets

For those of you that love simple phones, Samsung has released a new pair of handsets. The first one is the E1110 and features GSM 900 / 1,800 support, a 1.3-inch 128 x 128 resolution display, 1.5MB of internal memory, a 500 number contact book, USB 2.0, Bluetooth, MP3 ringtone compatibility and a battery that will last 8-hours of talk time and 20 days in standby.

The other one is a clamshell called the E2510 and sports quad-band GSM support, a 1.9-inch 160 x 128 internal display, 15MB of memory, FM tuner, USB 2.0, Bluetooth, a microSD card slot and a battery that will offer 7 hours of talk time.

There is no information available on pricing and availability.

Bye Bye Motorola! Samsung Is The Top Phone Seller In US

Until recently, Motorola was the first phone manufacturer in the US. After years of supremacy in front of Nokia and LG the party is over.

According to the charts, Samsung is now the no. 1 phone manufacturer with a 22.4 percent share on the US market. Considering the 16.2 percent registered last year, the company deserves applause for their activity.

The second best, Motorola, scored only 21.1 percent, a huge drop from their previous 32.7 percent in 2007. Third in line with a 20.5 percent comes LG.

Stick Pro USB Mobile Broadband Modem From Vodafone

Starting today Vodafone will offer a new way for laptop owners to use its mobile broadband package. That’s why they added to their offer a brand new USB model called the USB Stick Pro.

The device looks pretty simple featuring a classic black design that hides a retractable USB connector and a 4GB micro SD card. The most important thing about it is that it can reach 7.2Mbps with upload speeds at up to 2Mbps.

Last but not least, depending on the price plans the Stick Pro USB will be gratis.

Samsung T*Omnia

Considering its incredible look and features, I can honestly say that Samsung’s I900 Omnia was pretty successful on the mobile market. Now, its days are counted because there’s a new player entering the game: the new and improved T*Omnia.

The specs list for this candybar it’s not that different: WinMo 6.1, quad-band, 7.2Mbps HSDPA data, a 5 megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi and TouchWiz UI. So, what’s the catch?

The display. This Korean handset offer no less than an 800 x 480 WVGA that make a good couple with the built-in DMB digital television tuner. In other words, bye-bye US!

Motorola’s CEO Mentioned The Windows Mobile 6.5

Windows 7 is breathing harder and harder in Vista’s neck and according to Microsoft this new OS will be available in 2010. Before this happen they have another surprise ready, this time for their mobile users: the new and improved Windows Mobile 6.5. At least this is what Sanjay Jha, Motorola handset business’ CEO said in a recent interview.

According to him Windows Mobile 6 did its job but unfortunately Apple’s performance is still unreachable. The new WinMO 6.5 took some vitamins and will hit the mobile market with some new features.

This new OS will be first included on a Motorola smartphone that will hit the market next year.
