Today Google unveiled information on a much anticipated Android OS feature, its forthcoming Android Market, the search giant's answer to Apple's App Store. The Android Market will make it easy for users to find, purchase, download, and install applications, and will even let users send the developer feedback and rate the application. As Google says, the process for both consumers and developers is very YouTube like.

The initial beta version of the Android Market that will be available in the first Android OS based smartphones will only support free applications and will not provide developers with all of the bells and whistles that Google intends for them to have. Later versions of the Android Market will allow developers to manage multiple applications versions and gather analytic data on their applications.

More information and some screen shots can be found on Android Authority website.
