Our Mission

Midas Oracle is a media outlet [*] that publishes citizen-produced web content on prediction markets and the use of market-generated probabilistic predictions. Our authors are here to say something to our targeted audience. We value the freedom of speech of our authors, who speak for themselves and not for the whole industry. We establish a coalition of experts and organizations working together on our open projects. The idea is that our long lasting, collective, open, generic effort will pay off much more than the sum of our individual initiatives.

Our Boards

The Editorial Board is presided by Chris Masse. The Editorial Board of Midas Oracle is an international body of amateur or professional journalists covering the prediction markets for Midas Oracle. Can become a Midas Oracle editor any prediction market expert who excels at web publishing and web editing. The Scientific Advisory Board is chaired by professor Michael Giberson. The Scientific Advisory Board of Midas Oracle is an international network of researchers in the field of economics who have agreed to give the Editorial Board of Midas Oracle meaningful help in better understanding the prediction markets thru the economic lens.

Our Projects

We have 5 open projects, as of today.

Prediction Market Science - Popularizing the prediction market science. Prediction Market Journalism - Producing an open template for prediction market journalism. + Publishing news stories and opinion pieces that integrate the probabilistic predictions generated by the event derivative exchanges/markets. Prediction Market Decision-Making - Reporting on the use of enterprise prediction markets. Prediction Market Tools - Developing a prediction market plugin for WordPress. Prediction Market Events - Organizing a series of events for the prediction market industry.

We define “open knowledge” as follow:

A piece of knowledge is open if you are free to use, reuse, and redistribute it.

All our open knowledge content will be available under an open content license yet to be determined. We are looking into the Creative Commons licenses —maybe the Attribution-ShareAlike license.
