I have been using URGE, but now I don’t see the tab for it. What happened?
URGE is no longer available as a service in Windows Media Player. Downloaded tracks that you have previously purchased will continue to play in Windows Media Player. Subscription tracks may no longer play once your URGE subscription has expired. URGE has offered to transfer user accounts to the Rhapsody service. Downloaded tracks that you have previously purchased will continue to play in Windows Media Player. Subscription tracks may no longer play once your URGE subscription has expired. If I want to acquire more music online and add to my Windows Media Player music library, how do I do that?
Several online stores are available that offer music and other downloads. To see a list of available stores, click the Browse all Online Stores command beneath the Online Stores tab. Can I uninstall the URGE software?
Yes. Do one of the following:
Windows Vista
Close Windows Media Player. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Uninstall a program. Right-click URGE, and then click Uninstall.
Windows XP
Close Windows Media Player. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs. Click URGE, and then click Remove.
How do I identify tracks that I’ve previously acquired from URGE?
Do the following:
Open Windows Media Player, and then click the Library tab. In the Navigation pane on the left side of the library, click Library. Double-click Online Stores.
All songs from URGE appear in the “MTVN†stack.
How do I distinguish URGE subscription tracks from purchased tracks?
Do the following:
Open Windows Media Player, and then click the Library tab. In the Navigation pane on the left side of the library, click Library. Double-click Online Stores. Double-click the MTVN stack. Click the Burn tab.
An Information icon (a small, blue “iâ€) will appear beside each subscription track in your library. If you hover your pointer over the icon, a message will appear that says “You must get more burn rights before you can burn this file.†Items without an Information icon beside them are purchased tracks.
