I am having an issue with a file - RtlGina2? I can't trace what program
this file is attached to? I believe it is connected to some type of Malware
or Spyware, but I can't find any information posted? Any suggestions?

What is the exact problem you're having. When GINA is part of a file name, it typically indicates that its a replacement (custom) logon DLL that has replaced MSGINA.DLL (the standard logon DLL).

Our system seems to have changed the way we logon. When we attempted to
change the logon process back, we received an error message that directed us
to delete the file RtlGina2.dll in order to access the windows user & logon
control page? After inspecting the properties on RtlGina2.dll we found there
was no information to help understand origin or purpose of this file. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilties, Fix Windows XP Logon. This utility will reset the registry to use the standard Windows GINA DLL file. 3rd party utilities are not compatible with the Welcome Screen and Fast User Switching.

  Help!!
Hello, I´m having the same problem and I have also recently installed the
netgear adapter. The thing is that i took the RTLGina2.dll file out of the
system32 folder and put it on the desktop, i was then unable to delete it.
But here comes the problem, when restarting the computer it was impossible to
even get it to start, there was just a screen saying that this file was
missing and the computer could not start untill it has been replaced. i also
ran a scan with spybot before restarting. Does anyone know what the hell I
could do?? help would be deeply appreciated!

I am also having the same issue due to the Netgear WG111. I have downloaded
the fix, but since I cannot boot up the computer, how do I run the fix?

It would be more appropriate that you repost your issue as a NEW post since you are piggy backing on someone else's which by the by is a very old one.

Repost this issue of yours in the appropriate newsgroup as a new post, which is this one and then stating the exact nature of your issue that concerns you and you alone.

  What OS?

If XP, boot off your XP CD and let install go all the way to where it
identifies your existing installation. Then choose (R)epair. Everything
will be preserved.

If Vista, same thing except you will either need a Restore point or have
a backup.

Then apply the fix from Doug Knox...

  Thanks from me too Doug!

I installed the software for the netgear Wireless WG111 adaptor, and
immediately
had problems with my windows xp. I used your fix, and everything is now okay.
Glad I found your link!

Best wishes
Paige
