Good for you Micki! I grew up in the Texas in the 1960s as a progressive atheist who favored civil rights. Not a popular position, as you might imagine. After several beatings in high school, I learned to be more circumspect in expressing my doubts about the normative religious and social discourse but never shied away from challenging them. So I am greatly gratified and hopeful when I see someone bright and articulate keeping the flame of reason burning strong. To paraphrase Tom Paine, My nation is the world and my religion is humanity. May the flying spaghetti monster touch you with his noodly appendage.

Great youtube videos on atheism!
Check out the book “Away With All Gods! Unchaining the Mind and Radically Changing the World” by Bob Avakian. By far the best out of all the recent popular atheist books (which I enjoyed as well). You should consider doing a review of the book. Check out the publisher’s website. http://www.insight-press.com
Good Luck with your work!
