Catechesis is the instruction and formation in Christian (Catholic) faith. The premier catechism was that of the Council of Trent (1545-1563). The Baltimore Catechism was (and is?) most popular among American Catholics with derivations such as My Catholic Faith going into more detail. In 1994, Pope John Paul II published a new catechism. Shorter, teaching catechisms, have been developed in different world regions (like the Baltimore Catechism in America).

Encourages ongoing theological education in 'small bites' for all ages. The wording has been slightly modified from the original but numerical references for each question are keyed to the St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism #2 for comparison.
