Reuters reported that the Food and Drug Administration said jalapeno and serrano peppers from the U.S. aren't connected to the salmonella outbreak that has sickened more than 1,200 people.
The FDA had earlier warned against eating any jalapeno peppers.
Government health investigators had initially focused their salmonella probe on some types of fresh tomatoes, which were then removed from menus across the country.
