How big is the Chelsea threat this season?

United might have landed a Premier League/Champions League double last season - but only by a whisker.

A change of fortune here and there and both trophies could easily have ended up at Stamford Bridge.

So what now for next season? Chelsea have a new manager, a couple of big-name new signings and a squad more determined than ever to stick one over on United.

But will this happen? United might not have bought any new players but they retain a psychological advantage over Chelsea.

And you can bet if they get a penalty against us a certain John Terry won't be first in the queue to take it. Or will he?

Louis Saha - should he stay or should he go?

He's supposedly been offered as a makeweight in numerous transfers that have never happened - and still Louis Saha remains at United.

This last season his role was more peripheral than ever - so should United sell him while they can at least get some return on their outlay or should they wait until they have secured another big name up front and he is truly surplus to requirements?

Will United make any big signings this summer?

The Premier League kicks off again in just over a fortnight - but still United have yet to make any big moves in the transfer market.

A week or so ago a deal to sign Dimitar Berbatov appeared to be done and dusted - yet this is once again on the back-burner and United seem no closer to landing anyone else.

Karim Benzema and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar have also been much talked about over the last few months, although it seems unlikely either of them will join before the start of the new season.

So will United make any signings at all this summer - and how will that affect their trophy pursuit against a newly-invigorated Chelsea?

Eric Cantona pours scorn on Ronaldo's Real Madrid plans

United legend Eric Cantona has said Cristiano Ronaldo should stay at the club and not move to Real Madrid.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world right now," Cantona told the Daily Star. "He is a genuine artist.

"His style of play fits Manchester United's very well, and the reverse is also true. It is pleasing to see such harmony.

"As for him wanting to join Real Madrid, I don't really know his personality. Maybe he has valid reasons that drive him to leave United.

"He is still young, and so maybe he wants to take on fresh challenges. I can understand if this is the reason why he wants to leave for Real.

"But if he were to leave because of something else, I think he would be doing something absolutely stupid."

Is it time to let Ronaldo move to Real Madrid?

With the speculation around Cristiano Ronaldo's future never ending - a decision should be made sooner rather than later.

The player has made it clear he wants out of United and is desperate to join Real Madrid.

He has shown total disloyalty to United - and probably cannot be relied on to give his best should he be forced to stay at the club.

After last season's amazing performances Ronny's stock has never been higher - and probably never will be again - so we reckon it's time to get rid of him.

United have done the right thing so far in standing up to Madrid - but from a practical point of view now is the time to dump him on them, take the cash and buy two or three world-class stars.

Just when you thought the speculation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo's future couldn't get any more bizarre - it does.

Sepp Blatter got the ball rolling on this one by saying laughably that he thought players like Ronaldo were modern slaves.

And then Ronaldo goes and agrees with him!
