Why.

Mission statements and the truth. I draw, paint and create what I know, what interests me. I'm not trying to make social or political statements. I create from the place that I am at, geographically and personally. I make stuff that I like. And as I get older, I like to make things that serve a dual purpose (i.e. can be used and have a function). I like to have an answer to the question "what's it do?" or "what do you do with it?" because I think it's a valid question, even if the answer is simply: enjoy its beauty. It's not a deep mission statement, but it's very real and approachable. I'm no Picasso. Which is good, because he wasn't a very nice man.

The Truth:
There are three kinds of people in the world:
those who can't stand Picasso,
those who can't stand Raphael,
and those who've never heard of either of them.
