Welcome to
Lighthouse Trails Research Project
Note: This is just one of our three websites. The other two are From the Lighthouse blog (with daily news & articles) and Lighthouse Trails Publishing. We hope you will be able to check those out as well.
We are not a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. While we accept donations and are grateful for them, they are not tax deductible. We encourage you to consider ordering books we publish - this is a great way to support us and at the same time get the warning out to more people and help defend the precious faith. We believe you will find each of our books to be well-written, properly documented, and essential for the times in which we live.
Why This Site?
If you are new to this site, it may seem a bit overwhelming at first. You may be wondering, "What is this site all about anyway?" Well, it is really very simple. A belief system (we call it contemplative spirituality) that has embedded itself into Christianity has a foundation and premise (also called Spiritual Formation by many) that is New Age. This site is our attempt to warn others about it. We do this because we love the Lord and His gospel message, and we care about people.
Our History
We are also the owners of Lighthouse Trails Publishing. This research site is an extension of that ministry. We started first with the publishing company in 2002, and later began the research project in 2004. We hope you will find both our books and our research worthy of your consideration. We have attempted to present them in a well written, compelling, and professional manner while striving to maintain biblical integrity.
Numerous Features
This site has numerous features, including a Topical, Alphabetical Index. There is also a search engine. You can type in words or phrases to find particular subjects on this site. All in all there are five ways to find material and articles.
Our E-Newsletter
You can also sign up for our email list. If you do, you will receive three or four e-newsletters a month (which give you about 10 of our most important news stories during that period) as well as periodic press releases.
Posting Your Comments
There are two ways you can post your comments on this site: a guestbook and a "letters to the editor" page. We will post criticism if it is written in a manner that is thought provoking and helpful. Generally, we won't post angry or bitter comments because the guestbook and letters pages are meant to be an encouragement to those believers who are defending the faith.
Articles and Other Ministries
While we realize there is so much information on this site that it can be difficult to know where to begin, we hope you will spend some time reading some of the articles and taking a look at some of the other ministries whom we have joined in this effort to preserve the message of the Cross.
A Great Falling Away?
While it may look to some that we are just being divisive and are name callers, if you carefully study what we have to say, we think you will see the overall big picture of what is happening in Christianity today and agree with us that as believers we have a responsibility to warn of impending danger. We believe we could possibly be witnessing the great falling away of which Scripture speaks.
"Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons." (I Timothy 4:1)
"Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ[a] had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin[b] is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God[c] in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God." II Thessalonians 2:1-4
SOME OF OUR TOP STORIES (click here)
Contemplative Spirituality: A belief system that uses ancient mystical practices to induce altered states of consciousness (the silence) and is rooted in mysticism and the occult but often wrapped in Christian terminology. The premise of contemplative spirituality is pantheistic (God is all) and panentheistic (God is in all). Common terms used for this movement are "spiritual formation," "the silence," "the stillness," "ancient-wisdom," "spiritual disciplines," and many others.
