Jama Software is the maker of Contour, the leading web-based solution for collaborative requirements management. Our solution is designed for rapid deployment across the enterprise and use throughout an organization providing an instant collaborative environment and rapid return on investment.
Contour's intuitive design simplifies the requirements management process which enables teams of all sizes and methodologies to benefit. We believe that requirements management is too critical to leave to chance and teams need an alternative to expensive proprietary desktop software.
Jama Software is located in downtown Portland, Oregon near the South Waterfront district and new Aerial tram. For directions to our office, see Contact information.
Jama Software is a privately held corporation that was launched in 2006. Our flagship product, Contour was released in early 2007 in the US and in Europe in the summer of 2007. Contour's customers range from startups to consulting firms to Fortune 100 organizations.
Jama was created by a small, experienced team of project managers and product developers frustrated with expensive, cumbersome legacy tools that team members refused to use. After searching for and not finding a web-based solution that offered the depth required for enterprise class product development, Jama Software was launched.
We believe that open standards are important. Companies should be able to assemble the best of breed software tools for their unique needs and configure those packages to work together. We've built Contour with that belief in mind. Contour runs on multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix), supports multiple databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, HSQL), supports multiple browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox) and and can connect to other systems on many different levels.
Contour is a customer-driven product with our development roadmap created directly from customer feedback and input. Most of our best features have come from direct customer requests within our online community forum: Jama Backstage. The team takes pride in our rapid release cycle and customers appreciate seeing feature requests rolled out in a matter of weeks or months - not years.
