I have been working on my css skills lately and quiet frankly, I am getting better at it. While practicing, i have made another free phpLD Template called Exclusion. This template is made on behalf of my Business Web Directory. Their is a reason why i chose this name for the template. Exclusion - Exclude your site from the rest. Make it special - so here it is. Like always i have made a matching Wordpress Theme as I like blogs, and want other directory owners to have them as well.

This template is W3 Valid in both forms Xhtml and Css.

Now many would wonder what is special in this template which was not in my other tableless template (Out of the Box).

Well this template is a much improved version. First of all, the Detail Pages are much better looking, so is the link submit pages. If you guys have not seen at the top, I have added the space for meta description to go, and trust me this is the most seo-friendly free phpLD template i have ever designed. It have all the features i specified on my SEO Friendly Template Layout Blog post.

Let me explain to you how this feature will work. If you are using version 3.xx << You should definately enable meta-description if not on already. Than go ahead and write a good meta-description of your site. If you write a unique category meta-description / description than when one visits a category the description will change. Which is actually preferred. If not, than the site description will stay intact. If you enable meta description for your listings, than their listing pages will have their meta-description … ranking you high for their keyword.

I would have to apologize to all the 2.xx users that i couldn’t make this possible for them as the feature is not installed in the phpLD 2.xx script, but … Yes there is more…

You can also have this mod it is available and free to download at Dir.vc phpLD Mods - the mod is called Meta Tags on any page, so if you install it and copy the meta tag code in the spot where i say to edit, than you will have this feature as well. Otherwise you can still have the description of your choice on all pages of the site.

On the blog it is good to display a description of your blog and tell your user what the site is about, so the space is there also which you can edit to fit your needs.

Having that said, I have Statistic mod installed like all my other templates and installation files are in the download.

It is my pleasure to announce Out of the Box Template as the first free completely tableless template ever released for all phpLD Versions on behalf of Genuine Paid Directory.

Yes my fellow webmasters, i have removed the tables in the default main.tpl so this template is completely tableless. I even went ahead to remove tables from submit.tpl / detail.tpl / link.tpl so there are no tables. The only files which may contain tables are personal pages like payment.tpl and login / profile.tpl

Well lets begin with the description,

As i mentioned this template is completely tableless and it is w3 valid both xhtml and css. This template is one of the fast loading templates as it only uses 4 images in total. This template is very easy to modify the logo can be replaced by any other image with a transparent or white background.

This is a two sided template, completely seo friendly. With a sidebar on right side gives the user some space to sell sponsor links and such.

This template have a built in statistic mod inside and there is a instruction guide in the template for those who are interested in installing the statistic mod.

One requirement is that you must use 2 columns for categories to display unless otherwise you contact me personally asking me how to change it to 3 columns. Remember 2 columns is a MUST for the site to look nice.

I made a matching blog theme just so the users won’t feel left out. Check out the Production of Syed Balkhi Blog.

Lets come back to discuss the features of this new template Dapix which is being released on behalf of Genuine Paid Directory.

Dapix is a 2 column template which have Left Side Bar which contains a unique search box, sitepages, and sponsors. This sidebar can have more categories like network / partner or of the choosing of the user. It can be edited very easily. Just follow the codes in leftside.tpl

If you look at the sitepages section it uses a certain css class, so you can those class / ids when necessary to make as many categories as you like.

I tried to keep the image use to a minimum and mostly do it via css, so the only images in here which needs to be edited is the logo. Logo was kept small to make it look different. Even though my friend Marko Pektovic (balkanboy) does not like the images buttons in the top for navigation. I still added it, but they have alt tags, so they can be easily understood if you bring the mouse over it.

I have added 4 premium sponsor spots. In order for the template to be fluid width please stick with four images because otherwise it will not be fluid width and won’t work for users on the resolution of 800 x 600.

Those images can be changed if you enter the url of the sponsor site. This template is built so users can maximize their revenue for their sites. They can sell sitewide text-links on the sidebar for lesser price, and sitewide banner for a little bit more price.

Statistic mod was installed as well.

In my previous templates which worked with 2.1.1 did not work with 2.1.2, but this one i tried on a request of my friend Sharat (iPod) also the owner of Ally Web Directory to make this work with 2.1.2

I tried it with both Firefox and Internet Explorer that it works and there are no problems. Unless i missed it.

I also made this template for wordpress, so you can have the directory theme and a matching blog theme for it.

In making this template, several people helped me out and i would to mention their names because without their comments / critiques while i beta test these templates, it would not come in such a good quality as it does.
