An assessment of the Lakeland Revival

JunglesWife posted a link to a blog I’ve never seen before, but will undoubtedly start reading - “The Not So Daily Timmy”, by Tim Brownlee.

Tim posted an assessment of the Lakeland revival which makes several excellent points - most notably this:

The fact is for many of these cult watcher groups, their prophets are all dead. They can’t trust anybody alive to bear the oracle of God besides themselves.

and also this:

Because if all you are concerned is with deception then it will become your God.

Sin

Do you?

Well?

Just curious for some responses - especially from my readers who are in ministry.

Even better - resurrection is connected to the Lakeland Outpouring

Found out this morning that the reason the girl I referenced in this post about raising a baby from the dead had been watching the Lakeland meetings with her church on GodTV before the missions trip — that’s how she got the idea that she could/should pray for the dead baby.

By their fruits, INDEED… Glory to God…

Not afraid of fire OR flood - the show must go on!

Our local volunteer fire department has proved themselves again. We already knew that they’d tackle any fire, anywhere, fearlessly (and far more trained than their paid counterparts in the city!).

Last night, just before dark, we had a severe thunderstorm. Wind and rain and lightning. It seemed to stall right over us, too! Nine o’clock came and the rain had let off to a drizzle and the lightning was in the distance… so we drove up to the station. “Are we going to do this thing?” was met with cheers and much jumping up and down from the team. So we drove up and got mother, and parked in the Holiday Tours parking lot.

A few minutes later we saw the flares out in the field… and Whoooomp! Ga-BANG! went the fireworks. It was a lovely show - as it always is!! - in spite of the rain.

A big thank you to the Level Cross Volunteer Fire Department for all their hard work… and for not being afraid of a little rain!

(incidentally, their counterparts up in the city canceled their fireworks…)

GREAT testimony

http://itrustyou.wordpress.com/2008/07/03/stillborn-baby-raised-from-the-dead/

Excerpt:

“We prayed for thirty to forty minutes. At the end of that time, Julia screamed out to God, telling Him that she believed with all of her heart that this baby could be raised from the dead. After Julia screamed out, everyone was silent. We were quietly interceding and praying. Within a few minutes, the baby started moving.
