
Arihiro Miyake (b. 1975) is a Japanese born designer currently residing in Helsinki. He holds a BA degree from the Kobe Design University, Japan and an MA degree from the University of Art and Design, Helsinki. In 2004, Arihiro established his own design studio, Studio Arihiro Miyake, in Helsinki, Finland. The studio specializes in interior design and product design.
Arihiro describes his style of expression as “Al denteâ€. In HARDCORE he will present two of his recent designs:
Do! (2005) is a do-it-yourself cutlery set for picnics and parties. The forks, knives and spoons are pre-cut on an aluminum sheet and can be easily folded into to the desired form by hand. The kit is not only functional and fun, but also recyclable.
Trush-In (2008) is an extension cord supplied with a small container made of felt intended for neatly storing the excess electric cable and thereby allowing you to keep the corners of the room clear of clutter.
