Health Matters: Teen Health and Well-Being
In partnership with Mercy Corps, Health Matters is an interactive, pilot educational videoconference program for high school students. Through it, GNG will bring young people from the U.S. and the Middle East on a virtual journey that equips students with a cross-cultural perspective on matters vital to health and well being.
Topic areas range from fitness to nutrition to public health and peer pressure. Students will discuss vital health issues together, along with GNG health correspondents, and learn about different health risks and attitudes in both the U.S. and the Middle East. As a result, young people will become inspired to actively involve themselves in sustainable, healthy lifestyles due a social action project.

The 2009 Open Architecture Challenge
Re-imagine the Classroom! Learn! Imagine! Participate!
Architecture for Humanity and the Global Nomads Group are hosting a design competition, which will tackle the health, environmental and performance concerns associated with today's classrooms. Due to economic factors and rapid growth of our schools, portable, makeshift classrooms are now permanent features on schoolyards across the country.
The 2009 Open Architecture Challenge invites you to partner with architects in your community to design better, greener classrooms for our schools.

Face to Faith: A Youth Dialogue on Religion
and Culture
Face to Faith is designed to engage students across the world in discussion about the role of faith in their lives, their communities and the modern world. Using video-conferencing and web-based tools, students have the opportunity to investigate specific global issues; discuss a range of opinions, values and beliefs; and explore the reasons for different perspectives. By learning about those of different social, cultural and religious perspectives, young people will build their awareness of the role of faith in their life and in the lives of others. The program is committed to improving key 21st century skills such as collaboration, critical thinking and cooperative learning.
Since October 2008, GNG has connected over 1,000 students from Canada, India, Singapore, and the USA in videoconferences. Starting again in April 2009, Face to Faith videoconferences will help build dialogue among youth around the world and encourage personal reflection, collaboration and awareness. Themes covered are: Introduction to Face to Faith; Environment; Charity, Poverty and Wealth; and The Art of Expression. Face to Faith is in partnership with the Tony Blair Faith Foundation.
