Worst Boss Ever

I've never been shy about my dislike for my boss (Curt, as I like to call him). In fact, shortly after I started with my position, a coworker and I invented a game called Keep Away From Curt. The goal of the game was to avoid contact with Curt for as long as possible. The person able to hold out the longest wins.

Before now, the longest streak on record was 2 days, 3 hours with no calls or e-mails or awkward cubicle visits.

As of now, the new record is:

21 days without a single spoken word to me
36 days without a single e-mail to me

Listen Now:

This week the full GNN podcast crew discusses the glory that is Half-Life 2. We discuss our love for it, our hate for it and then proceed to kiss Gabe Newell's ass. Well, not really. But zk sure would like to.

Spoilerfreaks beware: we don't really spoil anything about the HL2/Episode 1 plot, but there are some minor episode 2 spoilers after 30 minutes.

This blog has been a long time in the making -- the original file was dated October 7th. In any event, I'm proud to (finally) present to you: booty's babes, Sexy Geeks v1. The girls were rated on face, body, personality, and brains -- combined scores determine the ranking. In the event of ties, ranking was determined by GNN men.

Additional fun details have been added for your amusement. And yes, there will be additional installations with an updated ranking at the end of my list. Feel free to leave suggestions for upcoming lists!

The Golden Age of FMV Games (part 1)

The 1980's is widely considered the golden age of arcade games in the US. The newest games, the best graphics – it could only be found in the arcade. Classics like Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Tempest and Galaga were born in that era. It was also the era that gave us the usage of real video in videogames. Dragon's Lair is the prime example of this development in technology. They are/were often criticized for their lack of interactivity. Why use a linear technology for something that is more or less defined by interactivity?

The Last 6 Months in 10 Minutes...

I keep meaning to write a real blog but life here has just been so crazy! I'm sorry for being a sucky token female blogger -- by now, GNN should be flooded with emo, self-hating posts about shitty bands, declarations of love for Johnny Depp, and recipes for cupcakes nobody will ever make.

In any event, I've been busy. Here's what I've been up to:

1) Travel: Georgia, Pittsburgh, the UK, Berlin, Denmark, Paris, Belgium, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, some places more than once...

2) Work: Still sucks...
